Trailer analysis

Postby Trigonal » Sat Feb 28, 2009 7:00 pm

Upon examining the latest transformers trailer i came up with several details to be noted. (people might have said something but i thought i might as well show others :) ).
-ravage is actually coming from a beach, it's not ice like many think it is. Almost definitely one of the meteorites that strikes the carriers
-Megatron hits prime in the face and destroys his face shield (you can see the rust on the shoulder that gives him away)
-you can get a good look at the fallen if you do the 1080 p version of the trailer and move the slide correctly. He's not that skinny, if you see he's almost as bulky as megatron (btw, wtf is with the lightening for those big transformers geeks?)
-Demolisher is in his excavator form if you pause it correctly
-the "cane" is in fact Jetfire's plane leg (yes it is Jetfire)
-there's actually five meteorites landing in Cairo (look carefully, it's higher up than the rest and right in the middle, you need the highest definition of the trailer to see it)

Just thought i would post this for people who might still be guessing, it might all be old info, but i thought i should share with everyone, enjoy :)

-The colour scheme of the hand punching Prime looks more like Devastator to me. (It's a giant yellow fist made up of a giant Deception squashed to fit a hand shape.)

Otherwise nice info, I didn't notice some of these, and I only guessed it was the Fallen in that clip, I haven't slowed it down.

It can't be Devastator though, since he will be huge, not the same size of Prime or even close.

yeah because whoever hit prime headbutted him or something and i saw rust on the armor of the attacker, it has to be megatron.

No, that was definitely (IMO) a punch from a giant hand, why does that rule out Devastator. If he's too big to hit anything then he's a crappy weapon of destruction isn't he?
Look at the physics of it:
The rusty bit and the rest of the area, currently flat, hit Primes shoulder, probably a little off the aim as the hit doesn't seem to be prefect.
Then the secondary hits (shown by the sparks coming off the metal) occur as the rest of the area moves forward. This is most probably because the hand punching him is curving round, following the movement through.
If that were a headbut, the head's doing very little damage, and the HUGE shoulders are doing all the damage. That has to be a punch, with the knuckles moving forward with the punch.

Though I must admit, I'm no longer sure it's Devastator. In the non HD version, the hand seemed more yellowish to me, but now I've finally watched it in beautiful HD I see no yellow at all.

Things huge enough to do that?:
Devastator
The Fallen
Jetfire?
If he's the same size as in the first movie, NOT Megatron, that was a huge fist! And his gun arm doesn't look like that and his smaller arm doesn't either.

I got this image from 1:33 of the HD trailer. It's JETFIRE! (This is the part with Scorponok.) Is that a whip?

Fudge, I can't upload it! :(

Just in case you need help you upload the image to Tinypic.com
then just use the url they provide cut and paste.

My two cents I thought it was a Constructacon punching Prime by the colour originally.

Rob's character idea and design for gaybot didn't go down too well in the TF2 preliminary script meeting.

Weapon: Missile Launcher
Devastator would have to kneel down or bend over quite a bit to punch little ol' Prime (little in comparision to Devastator).

With the rumored suction turbine thing in his chest, Devastator doesn't need to be able to punch robots. He can do his destruction other ways!

My guess is Megatron or maybe Starscream punching Prime.

I've always found Starscream vs. Prime to be an interesting fight.

when i looked at the cairo protoforms, i saw 8 different ones landing. look towards the end of the clip and you can barely see the trail of smoke following them on the left. my guess perhaps is one of them is going to be jetfire.i figured since you see scorponok in around the same area, maybe he meets with them? the only problem with that idea is that both of the scenes only have decepticons, which extremely out numbers the autobots. unless the two falling at the beginning is arcee and the combination of skids and mudflap who later break down into different parts? about ravage, i am thinking soundwave lands with ravage in the ocean, perhaps with starscream and sideways? if you look at the demolisher bio, it says that he has been waiting on earth protecting other decepticons, maybe there are all ready the constructicons on earth and the autobots finish him off early in the film, leading to bringing down starscream and the others? im just trying to figure all of this out :p

My guess is Prime wouldn't be standing on the floor when trying to stop Devastator... unless he plans to take out his ankle.

Again, Megs and Screamer are too small for that punch. We've seen them both in size comparison to Prime ion the first movie.
