I would kill for a replacement megs as mine broke too when I was a kid; would also be down for a rampage and - ironically - scavenger, as he is one that I came to really want much later in life
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

Something did occur to me recently though. My Rampage lost a leg from the knee down, unlike TM Megs that lost it from the hip pin. I could just look for a new leg and Rampage is complete once more. But as I mostly have figures on display these days, he is too top heavy to be practical.
I also recently looked at Magnaboss in storage and was really surprised that Silverbolt's entire backpack was just detached, at the hinge. Like it just eroded. I had no idea Silverbolt suffered from GPS until then.

Who knows why? That was an awful design.

Yes, yes, yes, I used the wrong name, once. Ok move on.
Although there is significance in the character choice polls being Japan-only.

Re: Transformers Beast Wars Transmetal Figures Rumoured for Reissue
Luckily enough, all my Transmetsls seem fine. I do have problems with color fading and whites yellowing pretty badly on a couple because I put them in front of a huge open window for a year, but other than that, no problems with flaking or breakage.

Rattrap and Cheetor are the only ones I've got with flaking issues. The wheels and shoulders, respectively. As far as TM goes anyway. TM 2 chrome flaking is another story altogether...

Re: Transformers Beast Wars Transmetal Figures Rumoured for Reissue
The only Transmetal I ever picked up is Optimal Optimus, so I'd be fine with this, but I'd temper expectations. I suspect if they do this, it will probably be similar to the 10th anniversary reissues. It's going to be really limited, and likely only show characters. Something like 6-8 bots, tops.
2-4 deluxes (some combination of Rattrap, one of the Cheetor's, Tarantulas, Dinobot 2, and maybe Silverbolt), a couple of Mega's (likely Optimus and Megatron), and if we're REALLY lucky, 1-2 Ultras.
Edit: That said, if this gives us another chance to pick up that Trans-Mutate build-a-figure they put in those 10th anniversary figures, I'd be interested.

I'm ok with this idea! But.. Lose the chrome! And reserve budget for unreleased transmetals! Black Arachnia, Scorponok and Tigatron I'm looking at you!

I have two Big Lots KOs of that mold that not only fixed the floppiness of the dragon neck arm but even gave it wrist articulation (at the cost of the spring-loaded missile launcher gimmick in the dragons mouth, though, but still).AllNewSuperRobot wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:There is rumours that we will see a leader class tm2 megs next year but take them with a mountain of salt

By Rampage, do you mean his chrome flaking off? Rampage doesn't have GPS issues to my knowledge, just the paint flaking problem (which I fixed on mine by adding a layer of clear coat) and the rubber treads.

Totally cool with this, I'd love to get TM Cheetor and Tarantulas. Reissued or otherwise, I think they're the most likely to be revisited. Perhaps Rattrap too, but I feel like they'd try to even the faction representation, and there were no other in-show Predacon Transmetals besides Megatron. But TM Megatron ought to get a new toy that is as big as or larger than the new Kingdom leader to scale better (and would bypass the issue of GPS entirely).
I wouldn't hold my breath for TM2's just yet, beyond maybe a Dinobot II retool of Dinobot. It wouldn't be entirely screen accurate, but I don't think Dinobot II is popular enough a character to warrant his own new mold, and we know that most molds are made with alternate toolings from the get go and there's not many retool potentials for Dinobot.

People may as well set their expectations low, I doubt Hasbro will go the extra mile to correct TM Megatron's problems.

There's already enough general retail lines competing for shelf space. Even more when you factor in exclusives like Netflix WFC and RED. We don't need another.
As for Transmetals, I would guess they'd do whoever got the upgrade in the show, and no one above Mega/Voyager. I could see them adding Silverbolt as a line filler but that's it.

BW Rampage has no metallic plastic, so GPS isn't a factor in his breaking. However, his upper legs are two parts: a shell on the hip joint, and a purple core attached to the knee, NO joint between the two parts if I may add. So twist it the wrong and snap. That's especially dangerous for the Japanese Metals version as it switched out the opaque orange plastic for translucent red. And as we all know, translucent plastic has less "give" so it breaks with less force.
OK... if you ask me, I'd only expect the Deluxes here: Cheetor, Rattrap, Tarantulas and maybe Silverbolt. Why? Possible successor for the Walmart Retro Headmasters line.

Re: Transformers Beast Wars Transmetal Figures Rumoured for Reissue
Really? By the time I packed most of my BW stuff away, only Transmetal 1 red had totally flaked off, including the red on Tarantulas's saw/gun and Primal's shoulders. Shokaract's blue had spider webbed; I bought some spray sealer, but never got around to coating him with it, so he's still boxed and bagged away somewhere dark, since I assumed sun damage was a factor. The BM ultra Jetstorm I got second hand had its blue chrome fall off too.william-james88 wrote:AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Rattrap and Cheetor are the only ones I've got with flaking issues. That was my experience.
But TM2 chrome seemed to be structured different: tiny chips of color would flake off of mine from the beginning, but there'd still be silver chrome underneath, so it looked more like a highlight than a defect. Did some Transmetal 2s just shed completely? Like Megatron's dragon red?

Yes, TM2 Cheetor's chrome did shed quite a bit.

How likely is a X-9 Jaguar (ravage) reissue?
I can really see that figure making or breaking the reissue line.

If they do TM Cheetor, Ravage shouldn't be too far behind.

I wouldn't be interested in reissues, they would likely cost 3x what I bought them for originally (and then depending on how they were offered, I might never get them anyway due to availabilty like the Prime Breakdown reissue).
Remakes might have me interested though, as long as they do a better job than Kingdoms Cheetor.

Not likely. Hasbro was looking to reissue that mold back in the 10th Anniversary line and either couldn't find it or it was gone.Sculyblast wrote:How likely is a X-9 Jaguar (ravage) reissue?

I'm hoping that the line will consist of Rattrap, Cheetor, Primal, Silverbolt, Tarantulas, Megatron, and Quickstrike. Silverbolt, Tarantulas, and Quickstrike to fill out the cast more, Megs because let's face it that Takara version is expensive, and Hasbro's has GPS, Primal, Rattrap, and Cheetor just because I think those three designs are some of the best

I wonder if they ever found it? They had only used it five years prior so it couldn't have been that lost. They moved factories at least once, maybe twice since then so there's a chance it turned up at some point in the last 15 years.
Let's also keep in mind that lost molds don't really mean anything anymore when Hasbro rebuilt the combining dino tapes just for a few exclusives. Where there's a will there's a way.
