This past July 22nd, Hasbro and Paramount Home Entertainment released Transformers: Cybertron - The Ultimate Collection, a 7-disc set which compiled all 52 episodes of the 2005 animated series onto DVD. Within days, though, fans were posting around the 'net about the "missing footage" in one of the episodes on this release, though. On the first disc, the 3rd episode - titled "Hidden" (which is appropriate, if you think about it) - started the story right after what would have been a commercial break. The first seven minutes of the episode, including the title screen, are simply not present. We alerted Paramount about the issue, and the studio began looking into it.
This week, we're pleased to tell you that Paramount has announced a disc replacement program, for affected customers. Apparently not all copies are going to be affected. Per our studio contacts, they have worked with the marketing and production teams to determine that this issue only exists on a select batch of Transformers: Cybertron - The Ultimate Collection copies. The replacement discs, for those who need them, will be ready on Monday, September 8th. You can begin calling right away to line up your replacement disc, though. Here's what we're told you should do:
Be ready to provide the following information:
Your Name
Shipping Address
Telephone Number
The ISBN and UPC code off of the package (to identify the bad item)
Call Paramount's Consumer Hotline: 1-866-939-0931
Simply tell the agent that you're calling about Transformers: Cybertron - Ultimate Collection
Provide the information listed above
It should take about 8-10 days for the disc to be shipped
My son is an affected customer for this, so we're certainly feeling the pain on this one at my house! We appreciate that Paramount is making the effort to fix the issue, and without making customers jump through too many hoops. My guess is that it's probable most of the bad batch will have sold through by now, but if you stumble across a copy just call the toll free number above and the studio will get you fixed up straight away.
