I remember back to the Dreamwave and Marvel days when a TF comic would take more than 15 minutes to read in some cases. I might be alone in this feeling, but for me, comic value and money "well spent" is directly proportional to the time it takes to read the comic cover-to-cover.

Needless to say that comparing these two is entirely pointless, but it serves to underscore the fact that the latter comic was bursting at its stapled-binding with storyline even though it was in excess of 30 pages. Since the Drift series is only 4 issues, similar to the Ironhide and Bumblebee series, why is IDW limiting each comic to ~22 pages? As with anything I am assuming it is due primarily to printing costs. With that in mind, I would rather pay 50 cents extra per comic for around 30 pages of solid story instead of $3.99 for a comic that is mostly action sequences without a either dialogue or a substantial supporting story.
I do want to reiterate that I enjoyed Drift #1 -- I just wish that IDW would give us more bang for our buck in terms of a story...maybe I should have left Issue #1 of the Generation 2 series in the comic box until after the Drift mini-series was fully released...
