Finally got my CW G1 Megatron today. It's everything I was hoping for and then some. Not going to apply the stickers though. It's sitting on my desk right now. I'm quite pleased with it.

Is that really necessary to mention the stickers? Because unlike for Gen voyager Whirl and Roadbuster, CW Megs's sticker sheet is completely pointless.
I'd really like a set of Reprolabels to make it more G1 though.

And I'm with ya on the stickers. It's strange they didn't do them similarly to Whirl and RB's (ala clear stickers). In the long run I'm just glad those stickers didn't mean Megs was an entire DIY sticker project like couple I just mentioned.

The stickers have just a lot to be desired. Personally if they were clear I would probably put them on. I like the detail on the spark chamber it looks like the one from Beast Wars Master Blaster episode. It's a good figure. It's become my new favorite. I am really pleased with it.

Wow! I hadn't even paid that much attention to the detail under his chest. Good eye! Nice little hidden details.
Glad to hear some positive feedback from others on this Megs. His articulation is a little limited, but I can live with it. I think he is a great figure too.
K-bat! You likin' him. What are your thoughts. Great score BTW. In the wild and all.

Hell yeah I'm liking my CW Megs! When I went to my local TrU to hunt him down, I only found a Armada Megs. Fortunately, there was a store clerk determined to please me and knew I was a TF fan collector. It took a solid 10 minutes for him to dig up a brand new CW Leader case and gave me my CW geewun Megs! I couldnt tank him enough. It cost me around 68$CAN. Expensive for sure, but heh, CANADIAN. I was almost ready to give up and buy him from BBTS, which would have result in costing around DOUBLE what I paid if you include shipping, $ conversion, and the innevitable customs fees. I'm glad I kept hope.
So far, I'm really liking the figure, despite his limited posability. It's insanely detailed and I'm amazed it's painted SHINY all over. All it need is a geewun Reprolabel upgrade to make it perfect. BTW, I pose him with the canon in reverse, for a more fusion cannon look. I also love the extra gun. I split it in two, leaving the "missile launcher" on a leg and letting him handle the smaller gun. Hey, it IS with a small-ass gun that he mortally wounded Optimus! Oh yeah, about how the arms are designed to allow his tank turret to turn 360° is pure genius.
To complete my TlDr comment, I find it a bit craycray that the leaders are distributed in cases of two. One G1 Megs and one Armada Megs. Of course, the demand for G1 outweight the Armada one by far. Many online stores force you to buy the set of two or increase the price of the G1 because of that. Maybe live in stores, Armada Megatron would be the one to shelfwarm a bit. That is why I'm biding my time to pounce on it once it go on clearance. I find Armada Megs magnificent but I wont pay full price for it. Plus, I just KNOW I can have it for cheap eventually.

I got both G1 and Armada megatron in the mail the other day, and I gotta say both are awesome.
But G1 Megatron I think I prefer. The shininess, the overall look is just great. And I think Armada Megs might've benefited from more retooling than just a new head.
I think G1 Megatron might actually become my new Classic Megatron, finally displacing 2006 Classics Megatron after almost nine years!

I'm pretty sure you meant "fenrir have come up with more images of Leader class ULTRA MAGNUS"
Anyway, I'm way more exited about that one that I ever was over the MP. For me, having an amazing leader size and bad-ass looking UM for 200$ less than I would have to pay a MP count for a lot.

yeah.. masterpiece magnus is still FAR superior to this.
no doubt this figure will utilize the same awful ratchet joints we've been seeing with the other voyager and leader figures.
they couldn't be bothered coloring the thing accurately which is a bit annoying. the outward shoulder joints are REALLY weird looking.
every time i see a new photo of this figure, the less i like it. i'm sure if takara releases it, i'll like it again. i really wish the thighs were red with a blue crotch. with all the cost cutting going on, they could've at least gotten the colors right.
lastly.. who in the hell was selling masterpiece magnus for $250? magnus was easily attainable for $150.. and yes, it is most definitely worth $100 more than this leader figure.

Tim, just pointing out that I'm Canadian. So, here's how much MP Magnus will cost me PRECISELY if bought from BBTS:
With the cheapest shippin rates:
189.99$US + 22.49$US = 212.48$US
212.48$US = 267.13$CAN
267.13CAN with guaranteed customs fees of around 30$CAN or more mean at least:
300$CAN or MORE for MP Ultra Magnus.
Afterr seeing many video reviews of MP UM, I personally don't think he's worth that much money.
Combiner Wars Leader Utra Magnus is the next best thing. He look imposing, bad-ass, and I love the fact that he have a minibot inside.
And finally, it would cost me around 68$CAN at the most expensive price point locally with taxes.
So, for me at least, I think CW UM will be WAY more bangs for my bucks than MP UM.

I think as you previously mentioned on TAV figures thread K, you're gonna hold off until the Tomy version is released. You'll save more on sprucing this mold up.
And Tim, K is including the tax duties. Taxes in Canada are really waaaaaaaaaaaay out there!

Lookin at Minimus in the drivers seat there you gotta love the meticulous approach to detail. Even the shoulder stacks get some love. Despite his slight height advantage over Megs in the IDW universe, on my shelf he he'll look great displayed with CW Megatron.

The more I see pictures of this guy, the more I can't wait to get him. I love IDW-verse transformers, and that Magnus is my favorite one of all time. He looks amazing and I love how Minimus Ambus comes with him.
This may also be a thing of pictures not doing the guy justice. Menasor has been repeatedly said to be far better in hand and that pictures don't do him justice. W may have another case of that here in my opinion for those concerned about his looks

Yeah, customs are EXTREMELY high over here. You have to pay the regular 15% taxes over the value of the package AND they slap an extra 10$ in extra fees. Sigh.
Also, the weird thing is customs are very random. For some online stores like BBTS, you get slapped for sure. Even when a private citizen middlemanned me MP-10, there were customs as well! Some other times, there are no customs, especially if it come from an online store from China.
I recently ordered some figures from HLJ and I'll see if I have to pay customs for these. As it is, that order will only be around 3$ more than if I paid full prices locally, with bonus Takara premium paint job.
I bought the Hasbro version of Megatron because it was the version I personally prefered and the Takara one would have cost me at least 20-30$ more. So, that's a double-win for me. As for Ultra Magnus, I'll wait and see for some pictures of the Takara version. If I find it superior and if I'm not paying customs from HLJ, and if the price difference is not too hig, I may buy the Takara version. It's just a matter of wait-n-see. The same can be said for Menasor, Superion, and Devastator.

He looks really cheap and plasticky next to that much superior Megatron.
Also really dislike the Minimus thing. Though if I was to buy this I could at least pretend he's not in there (or just throw that lil wretch in the trash).
And I have to agree the lack of colour in the crotch and thigh area is pretty poor.

I wonder how necessary the cab is to the larger figure made from the trailer.
I ask because I wonder if the old Classics Ultra Magnus cab can be switch in for it.
