OK If you seen my topic
Star Rateing System You know I really really REALLY hate Armada...
Whell this movie is still alot better than that.
This movie has a little bit of everything. Comedy, drama, comendy, action, comedy, romance, comedy, sci-fi, and comedy... (I did mention comedy right?)
So I'm going to break this into its different parts.
Sci-fi, they're giant alien robots and there's a top secret goverment agency that doesn't exsist called Sector 7, doesn't get much more Sci-Fi than that.
Romance, the relationship that built up between Sam and Carly (Carly is easier to spell but you know who I mean.

) and the man in the army who hasn't even met his baby daughter. (He allso ends up getting a ride home from Ironhide)
Action, OK here's where the movie just totally fails me. See I knew from the start these designs were crap. Not only are they ugly and look like scrap metal they allso completly ruin the action.
The Transformations as was described in the leaked script and as I allways knew they would be were morphs. The battle sceens were just as bad.
You're all aware of the preview that shows Bonecrusher plowing into Optimus I'm sure. Well as soon as he makes contact and they're fighting you can't tell what the hell is going on. There's no telling Optimus Prime's head from Bonecrusher's @$$.
I got 2 words to describe these fight sceens between the Transformers, TRASH COMPACTOR!
Now there are a few sceens with the humans that were really good like Starscream attacking a group of real F-22's (his own vehicle mode) and the pilots getting verry confused on what jet was just a robot a sec. ago. (I really liked that sceen)
The comedy, this was the best thing about the movie, it's funny as all hell. Not Bernie Mac funny because I can't understand a word that guy says and when I do understand him he says something completly stupid anyway.
Anyway back to the funny stuff, yeah this movie is a laugh riot. Frenzy is freaking insane I just could not stop laughing any time that little syco was on screen.
Now as a Transformers movie, I'm still under the opinion that if they called it something else it would have been a WHOLE lot better because it definatly wasn't Transformers. Maybe Scrap Metal would be a more appropriate title.
The reason this is not a Transformers movie is because the human story lines and characters vastly outnumber the Transformers and draw the focus away from them. Most of the Transformers were not even seen untill the finnal 1/4 of the movie.
I liked the fact they used a small cast because it gave them a better oppertunity to actully give screen time to all their characters, time they didn't use. Jazz for one gets viciously riped apart by Megatron, brutally murdered, spark riped out and everything. However in the short time he had on screen I got to know NOTHING about the character and didn't even care that he died. Jazz was the only one that got killed but if any of them had died I would not have cared because they gave no backround or screen time to any of them, including Optimus Prime.
Bumblebee was the only Autobot that was there for the entire movie and he was the only character that I actully cared weather he lived or died.
They had a whole heap of time to introduce all these characters and give them personailtys so you might actully care about them and they didn't use it. All of the character development was given to Bumblebee and the humans everyone else got screwed.
Oh and guess everyone who said "Wait till the movie actully comes out" needs to start appoligising to all the people who claimed it matched the leaked script. There were a few minior changes here and there, some good, some bad, and some that didn't matter either way but the overall gist of it was exactly the same. And I'm one of the ones who's giving appoligies. I read the leaked script and thought for sure the movie would be different, I was wrong. Even something Roberto Orchi himself told me was removed from the script was in fact still in the movie. The robots can self heal, or at least the Decepticons can.
So to everyone who saw a glimmer of hope, you've all been lied to, several times. I for one will never see another Micheal Bay or Roberto Orchi film again. In fact everyone in this movie who was involved in the designs and wrighting that script can all forget me ever watching one of their films again. The actors on the other hand, they all did a fantastic job (except Bernie Mac, I still don't like him) and I don't blame them for anything that was wrong with this movie.
If you go into this movie, go into exspecting to see exactly what you thought it was going to be way back when the first designs were leaked, don't go in exspecting anything to be different because that'll just ruin everything for you. If you go in exspecting crap you might actully get some enjoyment out of the comedy in the movie. If you go in exspecting something spectacular you'll be in for a big dissapointment.
Oh yes and Sam still kills Megatron, never in a million years should a human ever be able to kill a Transformer. And Optimus Prime says "Sorry brother" to Megatron's dead body afterwards.
They didn't really do anything to open up the movie for a sequill and I hope one never gets made. Cybertron was said to be destroyed and the Allspark was destroyed with Megatron making it impossible to recreate Cybertron so the remaining 4 Autobots stay on Earth. Some Decepticons survive too and undoubtedly Starscream is now their leader but without Megatron what's the point in a sequill?
If they DO make a sequill I'm willing to bet that Megatron regenerates and because the pure energy of the Allspark was jamed into his Spark, that's what turns him into Galvatron.
The Allspark BTW when they first showed it was as big as... oh Blackout in robot mode and then "Transforms" into a smaller cube. There's another lie for you, no mass shifting my ass.
Yeah everything you've ever been told about this movie by Micheal Bay and his crew is offically a lie. Even the part about them looking better once you saw them moving is a lie. I actully LIKED Optimus Prime when I first saw him standing still, seeing him move made him join the others in my "they look like something that came out of a trash compactor" opinion. Yeah seeing them move is definatly worse than seeing them standing still.
Leaving my feelings about Bay aside I still give this movie

However I would not even rank it amoung any other incarnation of Transformers simply because they barely even showed any of the Transformers. Not because of the designs but because most of the story revolved around the humans, too much humans, not enough Transformers.
You remember the first episode of Transformers Armada where the ONLY Transformers it shows are the 3 Mini-cons and them Optimus and Megatron at the verry end? Well the amount of screen time they gave the Transformers in this movie was alot like that, not nearly as bad but can't think of anything better to compair it with.
Anyway that rating I gave it, I judged the movie as if it weren't Transformers at all, if I juged it as if it were Transformers it would
So there you go, it's alot better if you pretend it's something else.
