Transformers Scanners

Postby Saber Prime » Mon Jun 25, 2007 1:35 pm

I've had this idea for a while but last night I had this weird dream that this toy line actully got made.

The idea is that a line of Transformers be built with enough posibility that they could litterally transform into anything.

The idea comes from the fact that on the show they can scan different alt modes. Basically the toys themselfs would be just generic robots that wouldn't look like anything if you tried to transform them. However every Transformer in the toy line would come with 2 sets of "alt shells" you could allso interchange "alt shells" from other toys and buy some "alt shells" on their own.

It's like a build your own Transformer kit. Rather than a Transformer with a few Transformations you could get a Transformer with as many transformations as you have "Alt shells" for.

An "Alt Shell" is basically the parts that make up the alt mode and hide the robot mode. G1 Bumblebee's chest and feet would be part of his "Alt Shell"

The Generic robot without an "Alt Shell" attached would be a protoform. This idea comes from Beast Wars Transmutate who didn't transform.

I could imagine the toy line would have some problems with "alt shells" fitting too loosely or too tightly on sertain protoforms and trying to make the protoforms so they can accomidate different transformations depending on what "alt shell" they're wearing. Despite these difficultys wouldn't this be a cool idea?

I mean if they actully got this to work you'd have total controll over Earth vehicle, Earth Beast, Cybertron Vehicle, or mechanical beast mode. You could make any character turn into any alt mode.

And thus you have reinvented the "R.E.V." line. :P

Motto: "Better than Michael Bay..."
Weapon: Null-Ray Rifle
That'd be really cool, although the vast majority of tranformations would be rather generic and similer.

Weapon: Turret Gun
Beast Wars neo and the Rid Car brothers where so close to this concept anyway. Aside from the shell of the beast/car hanging off them in chunks the inner robot was barely made of any part of the robot what so ever. Break for example could have potentially had a few differnt shell as you described

Um... I don't know what that is, link please?

Anyway I know alot of preexsisting transformers look like robots with alt mode shells. That's where the idea came from. I've allways wanted to just remove whatever alt mode a toy was allready wearing and attach a new one.

Rattrap would even be really easy to do this with. Rattrap is just a robot with a rat's head on his chest and the body hanging off his back. All you have to do is exstange the rat head for a car hood and replace the rat body with a car body.
