But your claim does have merit, the Masterpiece line was supposed to be the best, but with the release of Ultra Magnus and Skywarp along the way, it's just another opportunity to make money the tried and tested way. The chances of a proper Magnus trailer and a Galvatron to come out will be slim, since the demand for them isn't high enough in Japan.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
Blurrz wrote:Unfortunately if you look at most Hasbro figures, everything is repainted. For example, the Universe line were all repaints, spanning across most lines. Cybertron series had repaints/remolds from mostly Armada and Energon. Even Energon and Armada had their own repaints in their lines(Jetfire/Overcast and Optimus Prime/Nemesis Prime). And don't even talk about Mini-cons, as they've been repainted so many times.
I guess you can complain about Ultra Magnus and Galvatron not getting their own molds, but really it's happened to many. Look at Thundercracker and Skywarp. Do you think they've had their own molds? Heck, no, for most series Thundercracker, Skywarp, and pretty much the whole seeker bunch have been remolds and repaints of Starscream!
A sad thing is though is that Ultra Magnus doesn't really have his own mold. Even in Energon, he didn't take Prime's mold, but instead he took Armada Overload. And when it comes to Galvatron, he can't really look any different than Galvatron, eh?
This little gimic is allowing Hasbro/Takara to make a boat load of money. I won't be surprised if I see a Skywarp, Galvatron and Ultra Magnus in the movie line.

I have a great deal of respect for those characters but they really need to create unique molds for any future versions of those characters, and not rehash the optimus and Megatron thing..
them making a boat load of cash doesn't help me any...

I agree!!!
Nah, just kidding.
Of course it helps you for Hasbro and Tomy-Takara to make profit.
You like Transformers? Good. Those companies have to make money to keep providing you with those Transformers.

I wouldn't expect you to understand, you have probably set aside a considerable amount of cash for Botcon repaints, and haven't thought twice about it..

Surprisingly, I sire off children to working business women who don't have time to date, yet still want a kid. That pays for more than you can imagine.
At any rate, it doesn't have to hurt your pockets, because you don't have to buy those characters or toys.
Magnus hasn't been relevant since RiD and Galvatron, well, if you aren't happy with the choice, don't get him.
I'd love a big, burly, and finally worthy Ultra Magnus toy as well. I refuse to buy MP Magnus because he's more POS than he is MP. So, I agree with your stance, but not with your inability to see the business and common sense approach to why toy manufacturers do this.
It's not a personal affront to you, it's business.

I never said it was a bad repaint..just its not anythign new, and it gets old after seeing it done over and over and over again...
Plus Ultra magnus hasn't really had a real new unique body since RID, the others were just rehashed repaints..so lets give ultra Magnus a new interpretation either in the Transformers Movie sequel, or in the new horrid "Animated" cartoon.. or some other line down the road, but leave the repaints of him and Galvatron behind..just for awhile atleast!!!
