Ramrider wrote:The original toy, as you correctly pointed out, consisted of a white Prime repaint with a trailer that functioned as armour or an exosuit.
But the cartoon that followed never showed him without the armour, and indeed oftentimes seemed to go out of their way to make it look like they were all one component.
When Dreamwave got hold of the franchise, they decided to take a lot of it back to the original toy roots, including using the white Prime (which in their storyline turned out to be his brother) as the basic mode of Magnus, revealed when his armour was destroyed.
Since then, Hasbro have capitalised on this by repainting pretty much every Prime mould they've released in white, and calling it Ultra Magnus.

we always have and always will.. as soon as we "stop" buying certrain products I'm sure the rest of the product line goes down as well.. the repaints are the moneymakers.. instead of bitching about them, buy them and secure the future of the rest of the toys.

Blurrz wrote:Ever since Robot in Disguise Series, Ultra Magnus has been the white clone of Optimus Prime. And when you find an Optimus Prime, you automatically have to have the asumption that Hasbro will repaint it into Ultra Magnus.

No...RiD Ultra Magnus had a whole other non-repainted toy.

True. I'm surprised no one mentioned Titanium G1 Ultra Magnus, either.

I hope so, but I don't know. Hasbro might cater to the "white Prime haters" and make him a single piece unique sculpt like RID Ultra Magnus. I can't say for sure.
