I dont think anybody does.

See theres 2 issues with certin G1 names.

The first, like in "Hot Rod's" case is that someone else owns the rights to the name.

In others like "Ratchet", "Jazz" and so many other , and I suspect "Tracks" is that these names are the proper names for merchandise,tools,equament and products of other markets.

So Hasbro cant use the name "Jazz" because its a type of music, Hasbro cant use the name "Ratchet" because its a type of tool, and I presume, Hasbro cant use "Tracks" because its a manufactured product.

So they use the "pre-fix"
trick.

"Autobot Ratchet,Autobot Tracks,Autobot Jazz".

The prefix trick works as long as the character does not bear a resemblance to what the name's is proper for.So as long as Autobot Tracks doesnt look like a "track" of any kind they can use the name.

The prefix trick doesnt apply to "Hotrod" as long as they plany to make him a car of any type, because the current name owner is a car magazine.

I am very interested in who the Ferrari is. It's stock, so the name Hot Rod doesn't fit it anyway. Not to mention it's italian, and not a "muscle car".

Well the use of the name "HotRod" is not impossible.

It just a matter of how much Hasbro is willing to pay to use it.

They can also try to use the name in the film but a different name on the toy.

Meaning...

Movie character named or nicked named HotRod.
Actual Toy named "Rodimus".

Hasbro has been able to use the name in fiction, comics novels

Hosehead

And they might use a name from any of the other series or use a new name.

Yeah, and that's what I like about the mysteries of the characters.

And I would really love to see Inferno. When I first saw the truck, I was hoping it was him. But, who knows who it is?

Well, it also wouldn't be the first time in the movieverse that we've found out that the faction leaders weren't absolute leaders....like in ROTF when suddenly Megatron has actually been playing second fiddle all along? A movieverse Sentinal Prime may not outrank Optimus, but his presence would show that Op is not the top of the chain of command, nor alone in it. Realistically, I think the only way to shoehorn another Prime into the movie storyline would be to cheaply do it.

Dude, what are you talking about?

The only reason why the fire truck is believed to be Sentinel Prime is because a security guard on the set said to some fans that he thought that the name of the character of the fire truck was Sentinel Prime. So, out of excitement, those fans went to their forums and declared the truck to officially be Sentinel Prime. So now much of the fandom thinks the truck is Sentinel because of the security guard.

Ever considered that they might have ment the Primes in the Dynasty?

Originally there were like 13 transformers. Maybe the seven primes were just few of them. Like, maybe there were even more primes, but only 7 formed OR were allowed in the dynasty and the rest were simply not included as the Primes.

Or Sentinel could have had a secret love child, outside of the dynasty that they didn't even knew about. And he/she could have a sparkling of them-own. The last one might also get Sentinel's name

Well that all's a theory. If you don't like it, don't mind it. There's been alot of crazy theories around the Movies.


Which reminded me: If The Fallen was imprisoned, and the other Primes gave their Sparks to hide The Matrix, then where did Optimus came from? If The Primes destroyed themselves how can they have a descendant? And why does The Fallen keep calling Optimus's ancestors also Optimus's brothers?

Well, there's also this possible theory:

Sentinel might be in the movie, but at first he's not a prime. Either never has been or was, but got expelled or kicked out from The Prime Dynasty for something. As the movie makes progress he is eiyher redeeming his past or earning the right to be Prime and by the end of the movie he gets to be a Prime.

He could be like Hercules in the Disney-movie - From zero to hero.

Something to consider is that it hasn't been explained what exactly makes a Prime a Prime in the movieverse.
There are predictions that the third movie will explain this.

Then it wouldn't be impossible for other Primes to exist, right? Known or unknown, if Optimus is out there other descendants may be alive as well.
