Who would like to play team based tournaments for prizes?

I think its too early yet. I just want to get the game, play with and against friends and from there. Maybe 2-3 months after it releases.

I'd love to play in a tournament, but as vegetacron noted, it'd be a good idea to let us all get some practice first. :grin:

Who needs practice? No one will be that good yet so it should be alot of fun.

Well the game has been released. What do you guys think?

I am the video game specialist for the Art Institute schools and I am working on setting up a summer long tournament/alternate reality game at all the Art Institutes on the west coast.

I'm calling it "Cybertron Saturdays" and you'll be able to come into any campus and play the game for free on a team of 5 and get ranked for prizes. Also each campus will be a sector of Cybertron and based on the results of each weeks battles we'll be able to see who is winning the war Autobots or Decepticons.

What do you think?

the only trouble with a bots v cons setup is that you cant control who is on what team :-(

Yes it has got to be Autobots vs. Decepticons. I am very excited everything is almost in place and I am completing the rules of the competition as we speak. I would like to have the initial registration begin at the Art Institute booth at Comic Con next week.

Comic Con? I thought your were talking about online?
I cant make it there. I guess I wont be participating. :-(

Sure you can NiteStar. We are planning to announce the tournament at Comic Con and start the registration process, and you will still be able to register at your closest West Coast Art Institute. Where in the US are you located?

If I was guaranteed to have a Leader and a Soldier on my team, so i could be one of one/two scouts on the grp comp, count me in.

You can bring in your own team of five with the character class mix you want by being a "Squad Captain". Are you on the West Coast? Are you in high school?

rofl negative... im 26 but i DO live in so cal... and I'd need a pick up team... none of my friends play WFC... they think its going to bellyflop and lose its player base within a month.

i'd have to get some details on the dates, buyin, prize pool, etc... depending on that i might be able to talk some friends into puttin some team time in... or i'd be pugging

Still working out the final details but we plan to start in the next month or so. The tournament will be free to play. Grand prize is passes for entire team to BlizzCon. Other prizes will include t-shirts, posters, copies of the PC version of the game and I'm working on getting some exclusive downloadable content for everyone who enters.

The qualifying rounds will be at participating West Coast Art Institutes. The finals will be online.

Still working on this. Just about done with the official rules.
