related is a broad term.

It can be said that every TF series is related.

But you have already proven that they cant be in the same continuity.
"Canonically conected", is what I mean. /:)

I would say they are as connected as the G1 comic is to the G1 toon.

More like how the G1 toon is to Beast Machines.

I'd say even less then that.

BM used a lot of toon refrances. The only comic nod that I recall is Primus, and that one is pretty much grandfathered in by Beast wars.

chronologically means 1 continuity, 1 timeline.

chronologically speaking the 2 arent in the same continuity/timeline.

How are they not? We saw a visual callback to Chapter 8 of WFC in episode 26 of Prime.

Didnt you most recently point out a difference with when Optimus got his title? Not that I agreed with you on that one.

But you also pointed out a few other differences, when the previous Prime disappeared, when and where Bumblebee met Optimus.are 2 you recently pointed out.

Those were differneces between WFC and Exodus, not Prime.

And you have stated that Prime is following Exodus quite closely. Now Prime can take ques from both, but it cant chronologically follow both.

If Beast Wars can be the future of two G1 timelines, why can't Prime work the same for WFC and Exodus?

Beast Wars can NOT be the future of THE two G1 timelines [comic and toon] as they stand, regardless of the offical claim.

Its simple, The Parts Dont Fit.I ca, n be a math wize and tell you that 2+2=5, but it wouldnt make me right. The numbers just dont fit.So, Hasbro can say all they want that they are connected, but the parts dont fit.

Heck, US Marvel G1 doesnt fit with UK Marvel G1.Baring a huge RETCON, Beast Wars just doesnt FIT either any known G1 continuity.

And I know that they attempted to solve SOMEof the contradictions with the Ultimate guide, but they didnt solve ALL of them.

So, untill they solve EVERY contradiction in a retcon,Beast Wars can NOT be the future of THE comic or toon G1 continuities.

To top off that problem, as a fan, theres reason enough OFFICIALLY not to accept any retcon not presented in the same medium,.

It's always amusing reading the exchange between Sabr and Sto_Vo_Kor. ;)

Sabrblade wrote:Long answer: I know it was never brought up in the game, but I can't tell if Sentinel Zeta Prime ever bore the Matrix or not in Exodus. I know he did not have it at all during the book's events, and that it had been missing for a long time, but it's hard to tell whether or not he "ever" had it in the past. The Core does say that SZP "proved unworthy" of the Matrix for far too long, but the way its worded makes it difficult to tell if that means he was unworthy to ever bear it, or if he was unworthy to bear it for as long as he did. It may have said one way or the other in another part of the book, but that's a lot of pages to go searching for one bit of text without some sort of guide to help look for it. I consulted my original notes I used for my Exodus Vs. project, and there's nothing in there about SZP ever having owned the Matrix either.

Either way, Prima was the first Prime to own the Matrix.

If what I've seen in the game's cut scenes, read about in Exodus, and saw in the last ep of Prime, it's extremely likely Sentinel/Zeta did not carry the Matrix. My impression of how the title of Prime works in this universe, at least in the current age, seems to be that the title of Prime is bestowed by a Council of some sort. Recieving the Matrix itself seems to require a visit to Cybertron's Core/Primus, which determines if the Prime in question is worthy of recieving the Matrix or not; whether or not the Matrix returns to Primus after the Prime expires is not mentioned. Apparently, as of War for Cybertron/Prime, it'd been a while since anyone traveled to Cybertron's core to be judged, long enough that no one knew precisely where in the Core Primus was - or, possibly, that the Matrix even existed beyond mythology. So it's entirely possible that Zeta/Sentinel did not bear the Matrix.

Well, the official standpoint with Beast Wars as the future to either version of G1 is that Beast Wars treats both as "Arthurian Legend" pasts. The connection isn't biological, but rather philosophical.

The only version of Beast Wars that fits truly with the G1 toon with little question is its Japanese dub (or rather, with the FSRLTF toon), what with the extensive timeline and all. ;)

I can see that. Though, except for one thing.

This seems a little... iffy, since the early chapters of Exodus had Megatron say that the last known location of the Matrix was Altihex. So, it was out and away from the Core at some point prior to Optimus receiving it, even before the war started after he was first named Prime. We still don't know if it belonged to SZP at this time, but we do know that the Core did not always posses it prior to it giving the Matrix to Optimus.

Then again, your idea makes more sense than this, thus making this real info seem iffy.

The only version of Beast Wars that fits truly with the G1 toon with little question is its Japanese dub (or rather, with the FSRLTF toon), what with the extensive timeline and all. ;)

I know the official standpoint.I'm just saying it doesnt fit.And it seems the same can be said about WFC/Exodus and Prime
By any chance, have your read Alignment?

It is set firmly in the Marvel Comics continuity, yet takes many cues form Beast Wars, and leads right up to the establishment of the Tripredacus Council, as a sort of intended dual conclusion to the G1/G2 comics and prelude to the Beast Wars cartoon.

I was aware of that for the most part?

I still dont see why your asking if I read it.

I was wondering if you knew. I figured one would know by reading it or about it.

Still, though, what keeps Beast Wars from being the future to either G1?
