The old Philsopher's Forum has returned after a period of retirement (should we call it a sabbatical?), and we all hope you can enjoy it as a place to debate the serious issues that affect us either individually or as a people in general.
However, we would ask that you follow the new and improved rules for this forum when taking part in discussion here, as this section of SEIBERTRON.com is strictly moderated. The overall rules for the Energon Pub forums can be found
HERE, and in addition, we ask the following of you all whilst posting here:
1 -
Respect each others' opinions. No one in this forum is right or wrong, and you all must accept this from the start. This is a place for weighing up opinions, and regardless of supporting evidence, an opinion is merely that, and should not ever be considered right or wrong.
The only minor exception to this rule applies to the moderating team when deciding to close a thread - if we do so, we're always right to do so.2 -
Love thy neighbour. None of you are Jeremy Paxman. You will not win a debate with your superpowers of loud voices and CAPS LOCK POSTING, nor will trolling, flaming or outright insults add any weight to an opinion. These are the kinds of things that we on the moderating team are here to quash, and if you wish to keep a topic alive in this forum, it must remain civil.
3 -
Remain on topic. Although some sections of the Energon Pub forums maintain a light hearted tone, this forum will be frequented by members who wish to engage in serious discussion, away from such frivolities. Any posts attempting to derail a topic will be removed so as to maintain the sense of decorum.
4 -
Enjoy yourselves. The Energon Pub is here for your enjoyment, and so are all of its constituent forums. There is no point in visitng the Philosopher's Forum if you end up frustrated or aggravated each time. If you find yourself unable to enjoy posting in this forum, take a step back, make sure you haven't gotten so involved in an argument that you've become heated over its result, and take a deep breath. If you still find the forum stressful, contact one of us on the moderating team about the problem, as we all wish to maintain an atmosphere of sensible, well-mannered debate.
I hope you all enjoy the newly-reopened Philospher's Forum, and may you all expand a few horizons.
