What, real gold? Or a lucky draw type deco? I can't see an actual gold plated TF ever being done and personally wouldn't be interested. Would it even be possible to plate the plastic components on the toy?

Reminds me of the Golden Lagoon G1 episode. Love to have all those that were gold in that episode in gold chrome. Would be $$$$

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

Painted gold, no. Any nit can take a can of paint to a figure.
Made of gold or gold plated. Maybe, if I had the money. Would have to be something really special though.

I could care less about lucky draws.
I feel sorry for the idiots at the 'con or eBay that spend $1,000 US or more on a figure because it comes in a different colored plastic.
Just retarted.
o, to answer your question: no, I would NOT get a gold G1 Megatron if it were offered.
Besides, I have TFC 06 Megatron, MP Megatron...seriously, what other Megatrons are there for a collector?
That is just my opinion, for all the whiners...

I've never understood that saying, shouldn't it be "I couldn't care less about lucky draws"?
Saying that you could care less implies that you do in fact care.
One of those strange oddities!

Why am I an idiot? Because I spent 2 grand on a gold figure? Because I have a job that gives me the disposable income to spend that kind of money on a figure? I don't get people who make comments like that.

I think it is couldn't. Most people say could though. Probably b/c they think it's a double negative, or something.

Eh they are just jealous. We all wish we had that kind of disposable income. However those without it often act rather immaturely about it to make themselves feel better about not having that sort of money.
On the other hand "A fool and his money are soon parted" comes to mind as well. It is one thing to buy things you enjoy if you have the money. As long as you spend at least some of it wisely. Unfortunately those with limited means don't often understand that.

There is no reason to get antsy, Getter. I just think that is a bit much to spend on a kid's toy.
Ever watch the Simpsons?
"It's the same, but Malibu Stacey has a new hat!!!"

Same deal.
If spending that much on plastic brings you joy, hey, that is great. But I think it is close to insane.
It is not a question of wealth, which just proves in my mind these lucky draws are all about the status boost some collectors may feel at having something others will envy.
I own, apart from the new Porsche, almost everything I have ever wanted, from the Galvatron reissue, to the 2007 Kawasaki 650 Ninja in my garage...
I could buy a MISB Fort Max right now. In CASH.
But that is a waste of money in my mind when I have a Brave Maximus sitting right here.
The same thing goes for the "clear" Omega Prime TRU giftset and others like it...that command a premium...based...on...color...when all of them are made by 6 year-olds in China for .17 US/hr.
I fail to see the whole "lucky" thing.
So, if you feel lucky spending $1,000 US+ on a TOY, then you have more luck than I do.
But, like everything, your mileage may vary.
(Sorry about the whole "could care less..." thing, I suppose it is only we Yanks who use improper English...not like someone who may live in Blackpool or anywhere outside of London, right?)

if i had the money and nothing better to spend it on then yes i would buy it...

I never understood why other people can't seem to understand other peoples luxuries. It's all relative, there are somethings I could never see spending money on that other people do. The difference is that I don't put people down for buying what I would consider frivolous items. Besides it's also all relative, a $2,000 figure was the cost of tuning the engine in my last car...and tuning has absolutely no resale value.

well if you want to bring cars into the mix, consider the cost of modifying a vehicle(performance or aesthetic...take your pic) while these things can be exceptionally expensive and apealing to the individual it actually LOWERS the resale value...despite what some ppl claim lol

You are correct, it is certainly "couldn't", though I disagree that people think about double-negatives. I think they're just lazy and fail to properly enunciate words (which itself is a frightening concept when the words themselves are typed...just proof that people type what they say, and if they don't say it correctly the typing is also wrong). These are the same people that say "could of", "here here" and "walah" instead of "could have", "hear, hear", and "voila".

It does if you plan on keeping it running...otherwise, your car becomes a very large lawn ornament.
You must not know much about engines then, friend.
