i can get something like this for under $700 from a private collector

but i'm scared to pull the trigger. any thoughts?

How much is it worth? Depends, left or right testicle?

Seriously, $700 is ridiculous. Optimus is reissued almost monthly and Red Alert sat on TRU shelves for a year. the only thing worth more then $50 is Mirage and finding a G1 original would be much cheaper. But $700? Good Lord no.

Actually, while the individual figures can be found a bit cheaper, that particular set is quite rare and easily sells for $1,000. However, I do think this is one of those "what is it worth to you" kind of things.

If I had the money and the opportunity I would by it. I think it is one of those collection personalization things. This could be a cornerstone of your collection if you wanted--something rare that few others have, or have seen in real life. If not, or if you could care less, then don't waste the money.

Is it MIB or MISB? It would make a difference in the value.

If the set is MISB, it may be a worthwhile investment.

MIB may be less of a deal- have you seen the figures and styrofoam? Are they complete and undamaged?

Are you planning on trolling the people who purchase KOs here like your ban-worthy activities on TFW2005?

no comment on KO collectors.

its mib. the figures are in great shape and comes with paper work. stickers applied. box has shelf wear with a bent flap

the ppl that know what its worth think its worth the price tag so far. hard to pull the trigger. by far the most expensive tf i would have purchased. the only thing that comes close to this that i would have written a check for is my car insurance

Well a really good shape Mirage is hard to come by. I'm not going to tell you how to spend $700. I know it's difficult, and it can lead to more spendings when you say to yourself, "Hey at least it wasn't $700..." when it was like $450.

Why not? Because to me, you end up paying for the packaging. That's a big whoop I can live without.

different strokes for different folks. i like to collect mib tfs. if you think about it we really do pay for the packaging unless you truly are just a loose collector.
