There are many of us in here. We have different origins, sex and age. And we all came across the Transformers in a different way. Some of us are G1 purists and others are more open to the new stuff. The Transformers' multiverse is an endless flow of cannons coliding together in fans minds.

How do you see your Transformers reality? Do you follow only one cannon? Cartoon? Comics? Movie? Beast Wars? Japanese stuff? Toys? Do you mix things up to fit your favorite characters? Do you assemble different cannons to make a single chronology?

Every writters since the end of G1 more or less took the elements they prefered in the older stuff to make their own new world. How about you?


I have a rather complex TF Universe in wich I basicaly fit everything I like from the many TF cannons. Since it's so complex I'll have to write it in a notepad and I'll post it later.

Now take your shot at it!

Mine mostly consists of G1, but I also will add some other stuff I like plus some stuff I made up. Mine is set in presant day, their is no Beast Wars, time travel, and multiverses. Primus and Unicron are the name of Tf "gods." But like the real God, some Tfs debate as to whether Primus exists, as some believes he does, as also others do not. Primus is the name of the Tf creator god who brings life, and Unicron or "The God of Chaos" as he is also known is the god of death and war. Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp are all still F-15s, as are most of the 'Con Seekers. There is also no made up future, but has real world events post season one-two up until the Decepticon Invasion. Whatever plausible and non-ridiculous stuff in se. 1-2 goes in it. But the 'Cons after the year 2008 publically announce their presance, and on Earth they suddenly appear everywhere, and it is revealed that the Autobots are destroyed, and the 'Cons are desiring to turn Earth into a colony. Humans though are not in any danger of becoming extinct, but they live under the rule of the 'Cons.

Edit: But until the "Con Invasion, humans only have a specualtion that they exist, though the government knows about them. By "real world events" in this, September 11 and Al-Quida(sp) and the other stuff happened in this continuity. Pre-cartoon and post cartoon and in the cartoon, real world stuff still happened like it did in real life. Plus there are Tf toys, but the 'Cons are potrayed as bumbling idiots, and the Autobots portrayed as victorious, and the characterisations that Hasbro portrays are somewhat accurate. The Autobots alays being victorious is merely a 'Con ruse through Hasbro to make them appear easily defeatable, instead of the threat to be taken seriously in "real life." One day the folks find out their cartoon is based off somewhat of the "real deal" Tfs.

Nice. That would have been a better movie setup in my opinion.

Mine is G1... on crack. You'd hardly recognize it. Here's how my version of G1 is different.

1. Galvatron came first, before Megatron.
2. Starscream is of two minds about rebelling.
3. Megatron and Optimus Prime were college roommates and best pals before the war. They terrorized the whole school with pranks.
4. The humans have a MAJOR role in the war.
5. No energon. The Decepticons are just out to conquer for the heck of it.
6. Seeker chicks. Lots of Seeker chicks.
7. Only Decepticons can fly. All the Autobot flyers are former Decepticons. ALL of them.
8. The war started fairly recently, and a lot of people have former friends who are now on the opposite side.
9. The Ark is in Nevada, not Oregon.
10. The coming of the Transformers altered human society significantly.
11. Decepticons are fairly honorable, to a point. They keep their promises.
12. There are actually a good number of humans working with the Autobots, not just Spike and Sparkplug.
13. the Transformers are roughly human-sized when not in vehicle form. Mass-shifting is a 'no duh' which nobody mentions because it's too friggin' complicated.
14. Starscream is a scientist when he's not busy doing other things as Megatron's second. He experiments on captured humans and is extraordinarily cruel.

I'll add more as I think of it... I think.

My TF Universe is mainly G1 and BW. You got all the events of the G1 toon, with little bits of the comics thrown in to explain why new characters keep popping up. Then there's BW in all it's official cannon glory. And I even include BM, the BotCon comics, and the new IDW BW on-goings. I'd include Universe too if I ever read it. And on top of that, there's everything else that I make up myself to make it one continuous story:
Pre-G1(Not WWI)-The fight between Primus and Unicron, The Original 13 TFs, A3 and the Matrix, The Quintesson Occupation, The Beginning of the Great War, the Maximus Prime era, the Sentinal Prime era, the beginning of Optimus Prime.
The 20 year gap in G1-"Spike's Birthday Party", the Origin of Ultra Magnus, the Quest for the Matrix, The Voyager Project, the Autobots Lose.
Post-G1 to Pre-BW-The Final Battle, The Pax Cybertronia, The Second Golden Age, Liege Maximo, The Creation of the Maximals and Predacons, The Origin of Optimus Primal, The Protoform-X Project, The Falling Out.
Post-BM-The New Struggles(Old vs New), The Heralds of Unicron, The Rebirth of Legends, The Ultimate Battle for All Universes.
Actually if you include the last part, my TF universe includes all TF universes, alternate realities, and pretty much everything there is...

i guess i mix it up. i grew up with G1 but i dont stick to any 1 story line really.

I pretty much stick to the G1 cartoon and original movie. The other stories range from sucktastic to interesting, but none of them have the same kind of "kick" for me.

This is my own Transformer Cannon using parts of official ones and other things I made up myself.

Origins:
Quintessons created Cybertron as a second experimental battlestation. (The first being Unicron wich was a major failure) They first created the Autobots as a working force then the Decepticons as an army. After a while both factions joined together to overthrow the Quintessons who ruled them. After that a civil war raged to decide who would lead the planet. The Autobots Won. During the time that followed the decepticons prepared an uprising and chose Megatron as their leader. Soon after that the Autobot leader got killed by Megatron then Optronix became Optimus Prime.

Recent History:
A team of autobot explorers was sent to earth to study the humans. But the team was attacked by a ship of decepticons who followed them to find sources of energy. During this event, Jetfire crashed on earth. Humans found him in stasis lock. Expecting more alien robots to come, they studied him to copy the technology. They adapted it to human technology to create human-piloted transformers knowns as "Valkyrie". Afraid to face extinction, many contries merged to create super-countries. (Countries will be detailled later when I get time) Only a few countries too bound by their religious beliefs remained apart. The goverments started to develop technologies to face envasion. Brought together humanity became extremely efficient in advancing forward. 15 years after the crash, a new wave of Decepticons arrived on earth followed by Autobots.

Factions and races:
The transformers are slipted in into two factions: Autobots and Deceptions. Amongst them are many sub-races: Vehicons, Maximals, Predacons, Junkions, Minicons and Omnicons.

Vehicons are not realy transformers as they are spark-less. They are drones created by the decepticons to grow their rank in order to control the autobots who are more numerous.

Not realy a sub race, the minicons are actualy transformers children. They can talk normaly and usualy transform into weapons, gadgets or small vehicules.

Maximal and Predacons are all the beast-transforming robots. The Maximals, led by Grimlock, are considered equal to their autobots friends and are allied. The Predacons, led by Predaking (Razorclaw), are subordinates of the Decepticons.

The Omnicons are transformers who rarely have any mean of defence other than running away. They can absorb energy directly from various sources like heat, electricity, radioactive materials, etc... and transform it into pure energon that everybody other transformers can consume by themselves.

The Junkions appeared in the lower layers of cybertron where the great battles of the first civil war raged. Some parts of the corpes accidentally connected together to create the first Junkions. This race isn't dirrectly affiliated with either the autobots or the decepticons. They are often covered with cosmic rust and are usually avoided by other transformers. Their culture is strongly influenced by the humans'.


Cybertron:
I liked the idea of cybertron transformers into a huge robot to fight Unicron. But I keep the name Cybertron. No need for two names anyway... The surface of the planet is divided into country-cities. There is some dense transorganic vegetation in some regions of the planet. This is where most Maximals and Predacons live.

Transformers as a lifeform:
The transformers ancestors were transorganic/cyborgs. During this stage of developement the mind, DNA and life force of the subjects was transfered into a new device developed by the Quintessons; The Spark. Transformers do evolve but at a different rate than organic beings. Transformers live much longer and can modify themselve through out their lives.

Compared to humans Transformers are roughly born at the age of 4. They can speak and eat walk by themselves and know a minimal part of what their parents knew at the kid's conception. The skills earn by the parents are learned more easily by the kid as there is always some remnant memory of the parents in the kid's mind. But no perticular event lived by the parents can ever be remembered by the children. Transformers need physical contact like humans do but at a lesser extend. Transformers can have "sexual relation" but are not driven by it like human are. After the conception, the female's body starts to create a body around the newly created spark. This stage lasts about 2 months during wich the female is very weak and vulnerable; near stasis-lock. The young transformers must take new transformation mode often as they grow up. At birth the children can usualy take the form of cell phones, mp3 players, etc...

The adult size (ability to transform into cars) is reached at the relative age of 16 human years - 30 earth years. After that, the aldult transformer takes one human year every 1000 earth years (when not in stasis-lock) Age slowly shows in the shape of the face, the strenght, the size, the voice and of course behaviour. Size eventualy reaches a peak. Strenght reaches a peak too (around 4 million years old) and then goes down. The alternative mode usualy refletcs the age and behavior of the transformer. When the spark dies out, the transformer is considers dead. The body can be revived by inserting another spark in it but the mind is the spark's. This procedure is seldom used and isn't well accepted by most transformers. Be it because of superstitions, respect for the dead or else.


Combining:
Some transformers can combine to create a stronger transformer. There can be as few as 2 transformers combining (Efficient Powerlinking) and more (Gestalts). Once combined the transformers think and act as one. The persona of all the combined transformers combine to create a single mind. To achieve this, the transformers must be closely related (brothers and sisters, lovers, close parents).

There also exists a lower level of combining. Minicons can link to adult transformers. In this case, only the mind of the adult will prevail. For the link to work, both the minicon and the adult transformers must have entire thrust in each other. Minicons can't be forced to link in any way. The linking will grant the adult more strenght and special abilities. The minicon can break off at any time he wishes to.

About individual characters: (All non-japanese G1 cartoon characters unless replaced below. Then all BW (as Transmetals) characters unless G1 already exists.)
Optimus Prime: US cartoon G1 plus PowerMaster as a supermode. (no optimus primal in my world)
Megatron: Transforms into a grey tank.
Rodimus: More mature than Hot Rod and not a depressed as Rodimus Prime
Bumblebee: turns into a Yaris Hatchback
Cheetor: Transmetal 2. Second in command of the Maximals.
Arcee: transforms into a Ford GT.
Ariel: Energon version with a personality
Elita One and the other females: Much more present.
Sunstreaker and Sideswipe: Turn into 2 different Lamborghini models.

To add up to my concept (and to bring back the topic on top) I would add Star Trek Voyager style holograms. To help the "robot in disguise" concept most transformers would be able to generate a tangible hologram (you know... photons and forcefield... basic technology realy.) The holograms would be limited to a certain distance. (about 2 miles from the TF's body) The hologram can only be activated while in alternate mode. While the hologram is activated, the spark of the transformer is in the hologram and the body becomes like a normal vehicule.

I'll add more later. More specific characters mods to come.

G1 cartoon, seasons 1 and 2. I find it very difficult to get interested in anything after that, although I do have an idea kicking around for a story reintroducing the Autobots killed in the movie.

Marvel UK/US storyline 1984-1994. The definitive TF continuity. To paraphrase a certain mechanoid, "Comics superior; cartoon inferior."

Although occasionally, when I think of building my own super-continuity, I think some of the cartoon stories could possibly fit in with a bit of tinkering to make them better e.g. I rather like the Combaticons' origin in the cartoon, whereas in the comic they didn't get one! (Well, except for Buster's Matrix-induced nightmares). Plus, I'll freely admit a few comic stories could do with the chop, or substantial retooling!

My universe is (at least primary one that got me mega hooked) is, without a shadow of a doubt, the Beast Era. Though I still remember as a foolish child I derided the toys when I saw them in Toys 'r' Us with the rationale that if they weren't vehicles then they weren't Transformers...man was I ever wrong. Now I can't imagine not loving this series because it truly is the greatest Transformers animated series ever, and yes I am including Beast Machines in that statement because it is so true.

The Beast Era is great for many reasons, firstly it fixed the scale issue! Secondly it married the greatest bits of the G1 comic and cartoon together in a seamless fusion of beauty. Anyone who can watch "The Agenda" parts one to three and not love them is not a Transformers fan in my book . Also, Waspinator and Rattrap...'nuff said.

A follow TF fan and friend of mine says he doesn't want to watch the series because of the crappy CGI which I object too. If you take into account that BW started in 1995 and most likely had a similar budget to most other cartoons of the day, that is what makes the CGI really good in my book. And of course Beast Machines CGI is just plain gorgeous.

I could go on and on and on about the Beast Era but as the Late Great Dinobot said: "The Rest Is Silence"

By "real world events" in this, September 11 and Al-Quida(sp) and the other stuff happened in this continuity. Pre-cartoon and post cartoon and in the cartoon, real world stuff still happened like it did in real life. Plus there are Tf toys, but the 'Cons are potrayed as bumbling idiots, and the Autobots portrayed as victorious, and the characterisations that Hasbro portrays are somewhat accurate. The Autobots alays being victorious is merely a 'Con ruse through Hasbro to make them appear easily defeatable, instead of the threat to be taken seriously in "real life." One day the folks find out their cartoon is based off somewhat of the "real deal" Tfs.

There are female Tfs in this, though as there are no more Autobots, they will naturally be Decepticon females. Most of the charecters are under 1-2 million years old. There was an Ark crash, but it was around 700,000 years ago. Megatron is still the Leader of the Decepticons, and Starscream is still trying to overthrow him. Megatron is greatly feared, and so is Starscream. Megatron has no mate, but Starscream has a wife and two offspring, naturally these and the wife are all Seekers. There is a hiarchy(sp?) on Earth, and for the US part, there are Decepticon barracks for each state, small bases for a generalised area of the U.S (New England for example) and a major base in charge of the entire U.S. This goes for the other contries, but in a differant form.

Interesting... Were you a fan prior to Armada or did you get hooked by it? And the thing that realy puzzles me: about how old are you? Cuz when I get here I just keeps wondering if people who didn't watch the original show are more easily attracted by the recent japanese series.

When I was watching Energon and Cybertron, I kept thinking "Get to the friggin' point!!!" because the pace if so slow! It must be because they didn't have enough storyline to fill the whole season. It's a shame. I can't say I realy liked the characters in any way but cybertron had interesting stuff.

I expected something like that. You know after watching most of energon and cybertron I wondered if the old shows were any better at all. It had been a long time since I watched it as a kid and, you know, maybe it was just as bad. So I started to dig for it and finaly watched the whole 3.1 seasons of G1. Conclusion: even though there were some obvious flaws and absurdities in the old show, it was enjoyable because it was dynamic and fun. And a greater part of the characters had a real personality. Maybe you should try to find them too.

I tryed to watch the japanese followup. I watch fan-subs all the time and expected I could enjoy these too. I usualy love japanese stuff. But reality is that anime and transformers don't mix well at all. (even though the first series was animated in japan...)

One must face it: The best TF series is canadian; Beast Wars


I updated my other post again with a lot of new stuff. Check it out. I'm putting to much effort in this little fiction of mine. I'd better put it up somewhere where it won't face deletion.

My "multi-verse" has G1 cartoon (sparks applied as a retcon) up till the end of the movie, then has a modified take on the 3rd and 4th seasons (Changed the Quints from creators into enslavers, removed Primacron keeping Unicron as an entity not big harvester for energy) might add the Jap G1 series if I like it.

Armada is included, but the games take on it, no humans, Decepticlone army, Megatrons death at the volcano and bumped it way into the future, working on fitting Starscreams sacrifice from the cartoon into it (IMO the only good thing to come out of the 'toon) but its a bit tricky.

An abridged Energon follows, not set on earth at all this time with Galvatron, a separate entity in place of Megatron (who died in the game), working on harnessing Unicrons power. Unicron will still be destroyed by being shot into the sun.

A reworked Cybertron (again in future, no pesky humans) the black hole is the result of Unicrons re-emergence not his death. Megatron is now Galvatron (from my take on Energon, same character new body, still separate from Armada Megatron)

Beast Wars (Show, unchanged) and the IDW Beast series follow.

the center of my universe is Beast Wars and it defines most of my core mythos.

I'm gonna add RID in some form, and an considering putting in Star Wars TFs perhaps in a manner like "Valkyrie" mechs good idea there Evank_Horizon!

I'm also not adversed to changing names as I see fit (like Cybertron Megatron into a separate Galvatron character) some are Breakdown GTS into G1 Kup, Armada Smokescreen to Brawn etc.

I've already had tons of ideas for new universes. My main aim is to make it all a epic saga instead of loose episodes.

It basically boils down to this:

Cybertronian Empire
The Cybertronian empire spans quite a few planets across the cosmos, the Capital world is Cybertron. Member worlds include planets like Lihone, Char, etc. There's also lots of colonies where mining and such happens.


Leadership and politics
There have been many leaders in the millions of years the empire existed, some were benevolent, others were cruel. There is usually a Prime or another important figure that rules with the Council. The Council is composed of many old and influencial Transformers (Both Xaaron and Alpha Trion are among them).

There's also a number of political (sub)factions:

Autobots: Mostly peacekeepers and enforcers, they start out as mussle of the goverment. They later become the "good guys". This faction was rumored to have been founded by the first Prime.

Decepticons: Megatron's faction, they have a "might makes right" attitude. They generally want to conquer all the universe because they think that they are destined to do so.

Destrons: A faction that no longer exists on Cybertron. It was rumored to have been founded by the mythical Transformer known as Liege Maximo. The Destron faction can be seen as the first incarnation of the Decepticons. This faction might still exist in other regions of the universe.....

Blentrons: A tiny faction that is rumored to be Unicron worshippers. Many mysteries surround this faction. They are mostly shunned by the other factions.

Vehicons: A extremist faction that sees everything organic as weak and inferior. This is a tiny faction, it is very short on members and might collapse at any given time. These guys would be the inspiration for BM Megatron.

Children of Primus: Generally considered to be the crackpot faction due to their religious activities. They are only on good terms with the Autobots. This faction tends to get targetted by the Blendtrons.

Neutrals/Cybertronians: The average joes, all Transformers started out here. Most of the Cybertronian population is neutral. They mostly wish to stay out of the infighting that is caused by the other factions.


Leaders Primes
Leaders (Primes), these guys mostly got named in the comics, but even then we only got four of five leaders. I'd like to upgrade the number of Characters like so:

1. Primon: The first Prime, supposedly first leader created by Primus. He's one of the original 13. He was supposedly killed by Liege Maximo, but the Children of Primus insist that he could still return.

2. Alpha Prime: Also known as Prima in the ancient Cybertronian language. This Prime pioneerd many new concepts and created trade routes with various Alien races. It is rumored that Alpha trion decended from him. Alpha Prime got killed when his cruiser got blown up during trade negotiations with the Quintesons.

3. Guardian Prime: This Prime emerged after the Quintesons were driven off Cybertron. Guardian Prime was a conservative isolationist. His primary concern was to arm Cyberton against alien invaders and anything that might threaten the Cybertronian way of life. Guardian Prime disappeared for many decades until his ship was found again, Guardian Prime's status is unknown.

4. Xaaron and Alpha Trion: Not Primes, they took over after Guardian Prime disappeared. Xaaron started a Matrix quest to retrieve the missing Matrix and possibly Guardian Prime. The Matrix was eventually recovered, but Guardian Prime was never seen or heard of.

5. Beta Prime: A new Prime that signalled a new era of expansion and peace. The Cybertronian Empire grew in power and size under his command. This was somewhat frightening to the population, afterwards the council was formed for all govermental tasks. Beta Prime eventually stepped down after he considered that his time was done. Beta Prime is still alive and well on Cybertron.

6. Nova Prime: A rather unethical Prime. He mostyl strived to manipulate the council for his own machinations. He eventually disappeared after launching a ship that was supposedly intended for peaceful exploration and colonization.

7. Sentinel Prime: Sentinel Prime was relagated to securtiy matters and such. His reign didn't last very long since he was killed by Megatron during the start of the Autobot/Decepticon civil war.

8. Optimus Prime: You'll gues what he's about




So, that was a tiny fragment of what I'd use for a personal universe.

I always dreamed of mecha crossovers but I didn't want to push it too far. I only gave hits that there could be more Mecha added but if I didn't restrain myself, every mecha I know that looks, even remotely, like a transformer would have been added. Even Combattler V. (Maybe an overgrown minicon gestalt...) But some like UC gundams would be great as man-made mechas.

I borrow stuff from various cartoons and comics, after that I get creative with some new ideas and work them in.

I for instance team Alpha Trion with Xaaron, they were both exclusive to the media they appeared in. Hence why it's a nice touch to have both of them. And for some more background I put them in a more "mature" political position.

While on that subject, Furman did similar things in the "Megatron Origin" series. I also base some of the political aspects around that story arc.

I do however separate the cartoon and comics. If you want my theory you can ask otherwise I don't think i want to post that much tonight.

I like to think of a multiverse war. Two Armies, the Army of Light led by Primus and the Forces of Chaos led by Unicron.
One is made of Decepticons, Vehicons and Predacons. The other Maximals, Autobots and Renegades Decepticons and Predacons.

Of course, I feel like a very old fart now because I was 5 years old waking up and watching G1 on Saturday mornings. Lol. And I looooooooved it. So much that I then got into the G1 comics and playing with the toys with all my guy cousins who thought it was so cool that a girl was into them. So yea...pretty much my universe revolves around G1. I enjoyed Beast Wars a lot and Armada, Energon, and Cybertron were all cool simply because it was them, but I still love my G1 characters and storyline.

And actually I always treated the other series as other viewpoints on the storyline, and never really tried to connect the dots. It was just seperate ideas for me. Now I feel stupid and old for not trying to connect them. Hmmmm. Maybe I should get to reading the comics again and watching the shows all over. ^_^:::

That's what my first idea was. But the idea of having a civil war on cybertron seemed more appealing to me.

Why don't you stop teasing us and write how you rationalise all this? It could be interesting to see how you make it all fit together. I did that with the Mega Man multiverse once. It was a simpler task though.
