Any predictions for the next Transformers cartoon?

We all know that Animated won't last forever and many of us could never have predicted a TF cartoon with it's style of animation and storytelling.

What comes next?

Will the Transformers take a serious turn (like the new G.I. Joe cartoon is supposed to do?), or will it search for an even younger audience (I stop Deceptcons with hugs!)?

I'm predicting a show that uses stop-motion animation. I'm also predicting news headlines about the crew of the show going insane because stop-motion is so labor intensive and time consuming. Also, kids would get angry when the toys they see on the screen are doing things that the toys they bring home can't.

i doubt they would do stop motion it would take way too much time and effort. I wouldn't mind seeing a animated style like armada, but with animated like storylines.

I'd like to see a return to the CGI animation style of Beast Wars and Beast Machines. I always liked that style much better than the strange combo styles of AEC. Also, I think we're due for a slightly more mature series, in the vein of Beast Wars. Most of the AEC kids are older now and could appreciate it in much the way the children of G1 appreciated BW.

Instead, how much you wanna bet we get a sequel to Animated?
TF series seem to come in trilogies now. G1/BW/BM, AEC, Movie(you know its gonna end up being a trilogy).

I asked Hasbro for that at BotCon08. The reps said it was not in any future plans, and there are too many other directions they would like to go in.

Weapon: Battle Blades
It'll probably originate from Japan, whatever it is. I'm hoping for something like Galaxy Force, though not necessarily animated in CGI. It should have a great standalone epic storyline, disregard continuity and the transformation sequences should closely mimic the actual toy transforms.

So you think it'll come from Japan, but feature stuff the Japanese never do? Interesting. :?

Personally, I'm hoping for a story where young Orion Pax sees his creator, Alpha Trion, killed in front of him by a Decepticon jittery for his next energon goodie fix. After travelling Cybertron for many years learning about the new Decepticon threat, Orion returns home. Whilst working at Trion Enterprises, he finds old engineer Wheeljack working in the nearly shut down R&D department. Orion uses the fantastic equipment Wheeljack supplies to become... BATPRIME!

If the next TF show went back to its CGI elements as BW did then that would be something.

Still I would like to see more 2D TF shows, Let Toei do TF again because I always liked there way of doing the shows...or better yet, Give it back to Gonzo and make sure its animated in the Hellsing OVA style.

I'm sure they said that if the GI Jo Resolute was successful they would make one for Transformers.
But complete Animated first, then bring us TRANSTECH!

On one of Batprime's earliest cases, he encounters a mysterious character known only as the Red Hood. When the Hood is knocked into a vat of chemicals, he emerges as the deranged Decepticon leader Jokertron.

See? It would work.

They shouldnt do another show anytime soon.

They should do what Marvel and DC do and adopt something in a DTV movie with high quality animation like Production I.G who does anime like Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and have it aimed at older fans.

Hasbro has the limited way of thinking of everything has to sell toys. Other companies with franchises or universes dont do everything solely to sell toys or comics i.e. DC and Marvel.

If done right they would sell 500,000 to 750,000 copies minimum.

No no no. We get Chris Nolan to direct the series. We don't feature Wheeliebin, because these are stories of a young Batprime.

I too would like a return of CGI, and a more serious tone. Granted Animated is easily the best transformers cartoon since Beast Wars. Beast Machines was good, but it didn't feel like a transformers cartoon, more like the darker toned Sonic the Hedgehog but with Autobots instead of freedom fighters. RID had its moments, but overall sucked. Armada just straight sucked, and also produced a toyline so bad that it made G1 look good...aside from Unicron that is. Energon had gorgeous animation, but I eventually grew bored of watching the show. Cybertron I watched one episode and gave up on it.

One thing I'm sick of is this stupid pokemon style anime crap they've been doing. What gives? Haven't transformers moved past that? Going Anime IMO was a step backwards. My friend at work's a big anime fan and honestly thanks mostly to transformers I can't stand the stuff. Its time to bring TF back to CGI.

My idea for the next show is to make a darker CGI show based off the movies. Basically having the show take place on Cybertron way before the events of the first movie. Explain how Megatron turned evil, and show the autobots and decepticons relentless wars on the planet. THATS what I would like to see!

CGI as in the Energon-Cybertron? God, please, NO!

CGI done right, as in the "I want to believe"? Hell, yeah!

But if using the same technic and graphic as in GIJoe: Resolute? Perfect.

You do know that Hasbro is a toymaker and isn't interested in selling cartoons but only uses it's cartoons to advertise the toys?

I am hoping for a CGI Transformers done like MS Igloo was if you know or seen that anime.

Also I want a transformer cartoon done were Megatron & Optimus would team up cause of a new faction of Transformers sent bye the Cybertron Head Council sort of like how that one comic book was made.

Also would be cool would be a new transformer cartoon based off of the Universe or one of the new Toy Lines they have out.

And finally I think they should make a TF cartoon that is made for Direct-To-Dvd like with GI Joe Resolute is being geared to adult adiuences and more bloodier. Maybe have a few characters killed off and make the war a more violentier one with less humans in it.

Actually no humans would be better. Be cool to make one about the original 13 Transformers in the days pasts were Unicron & Primus were battling at the begiinning at time.

This has been discussed in each TF cartoon series but has never had a cartoon series made about it.

Well I gotta say I think we'll see another Animated story part, or an Animated like show sadly :( .

Personaly I would like to see a series with the Anime style Armada and RID had (espeically the way Armada epiosde Mortal Combat looked),and a lot more mature and way different then anything else in the TF Universe. Like a series with a large variety of characters with realistic personalities, lots of drama, conflict between certain characters, an emo and gothic character, a dark feel, fight scenes like in the Matrixs films or have the TFs fight more like humans, not many G1 homages, NONE of this crap like Transformers can have their heads taken off and still be alive, a serious reduction on humor, all different TRANSFORMER villian teams, NO humans, and new leaders for both sides with the Autobots having someone like Rodimus in G1 or his character in Energon.

But I for see another Animated, or Cybertron, or worse :( .

I can see 3 or 4 possibles as a next TF series

A sequel to Armada They are already a new sequel but it is a comic book sequel to the show.

A seqeul or part 2 to Cybertron cause it left a huge Cliffhanger and they went of in search of Starscream and off too build a new space bridge like there ancient ancestors did.

It will no longer be on Earth

Coby and Lori is now Married
Bud is in his younger Teenage Years possible in Highschool Now

General Frankling and the Professor are now Married

Jetfire Is leader of Cybertron which now resembles Earth
Hot Shot is now the leader of Veloctiron
Scoure is still leader of Jungle Planet

If they do a sequel it could be done on earth from 2 diffrent view points Team Optimus and Team Jetfire.

Other possible is a new TF Cartoon based of the popular Universe Toy Line.

Or something totally new and un-expected but cool and unique.

New Characters
New Animated Styles
Never Before Seen Planets
New Commanders for Autobots & Decepticons
Combination of Autobots/Maximals & Decipticons/Predacons
Fortess Maximus Cereberus and Scorpinok will be in it

It will be a more violenter cartoon less humans maybe no humans
new transformers never before seen.

More combiners less power link also a 1st now Decepticons can powerlink also. Megatron/Starscream, Soundwave/Shockwave etc.

Female Decipticons will be in it

Major Characters will be killed off but go out with a Bang

A new version of Unicron will be in and will be like nothing we have ever seen, but he will be a planet killer still but more cooler than ever and have more dialog and screen time.

The name of my Cartoon would be called Transformers-Legends or Transformers-Ultimate Battles

Also I would make a cartoon made at the beginning of Time when Unicron and Primus and the Original 13 Transformers where around the beginning of the story.

This has always been mention in TF-Folklores but has never been made into a Movie or a Cartoon Series.

Name would be Transformers-In The Begginning, Transformers-Forever,
Transformers-A New Beginning

Something darker perhaps, but not necessarily less funny. I would prefer a bit more humor. Animated has a fair amount of humor in it, on the right track.

I'm thinking they'll start a whole new continuity, just as they have been doing. Wash, rinse, repeat, indeed!

I personally hope Animated goes on for a few more seasons. I love it. But that's just me.

But we can't always have what we want.

I'd like to see a animated version of IDW's current comic.

Though they probably won't make it, it's primarily aimed at people in the 20+ age group.

I'm not sure what to call the animation style of "Transformers: Animated". Its not Anime. If anything it reminds me of the Clerks cartoon that was on in the 90's that flopped and now is a popular DVD hit.

I just hope Anime is done for good. I really can't stand the crap. After Beast Wars and Beast Machines, I thought we had moved past Anime. I understand the concept behind RID: Hasbro needed a filler in between Beast Machines and Armada so they imported and translated a Japanese show and toyline over to the US. Thats understandable. But you cannot imagine my extreme disappointment with Armada!

I would like to see them revisit G1 myself and with more focus on the universe, not just Earth. Personally I would love to see them do a serious series, or mini-series, based on the beginning of the war on Cybertron, the rise of Optimus Prime and what the war on Cybertron was like before it moved off world. I would also love to see a cartoon version of the IDW comics.

However, as someone pointed out Hasbro is a toy company and are more interested in selling toys then producing a good animated series that tells a good story. So I think my hopes are dashed.

I think I've said this before somewhere, but whatever: I hope they don't go back to G1. Yes, I'd love to see a G1 show, but it would need to be MY G1 show, and I think we all feel like that if we're honest. I wouldn't want a show that retconned Primus in, made Unicron a god, TFs with "sparks," etc. Some people would demand it. I'd rather live with the original show and fanfiction.
