If you are in a financial position where you need to hide toys till your next paycheck, you might wanna re-evaluate whether you should be buying toys.
This is one of my pet peeves btw. I HATE having to hunt through the backs of random shelves to find TFs that some juvenile hid away.

what if you're not in a financial position like that?? what if you dropped your wallet, misjudged how much you actually had in your wallet, or took enough for a certain figure but found another one you didnt expect to find that costs more???? just because someone hides it doesnt mean they're waiting on their next paycheck, they could return that same day to get it. For all those that thinks it's "immoral" or immature i'm glad that people will still continue to hide stuff no matter what you say, its just part of collecting, deal with it.
I don't find it to be immoral at all. Stupid? Perhaps. Desperate? Yes. Immoral? No. Most of the people that hide the figures do actually come back and buy them. So no one on the store side of it has lost out really. Sure, another collector or a kid will miss out, but if it's not you hiding it, another collector or another kid will buy it up from those that are complaining. Problem is, people whined about Layaway and said it was foul play as well. No, it was a legitimate service, you *PAID* for it, they held the item, you came back and paid for it in full. You owned it. This is no different except the store doesn't receive a holding fee for doing it. They still end up getting paid for it in the end though.
It's immoral because it keeps *YOU* (aimed at the complainers, not Megatron7) from getting what you want. Let's face it, when you buy it, you're depriving a kid from having a chance at getting it. You're depriving your fellow collectors from having a chance at getting it. See? As long as you're covered, it's okay. Screw the rest, they'll just have to get it on their own if they can. You just got lucky enough to be there before anyone else did.
What's the difference? You paid for it today, right this minute. The hider will pay for it at the end of the day, or the end of the week, but the result's the same. You're deprived of a chance of getting to the figure first, just like you've deprived us. A kid's deprived of a chance of getting to the figure first, just like you've deprived us. Kids and other collectors have done the same thing, countless times to us and one another throughout the history of collecting. It will continue to happen.
You're just upset that someone beat you to the punch.
Deal with it. Quit being so friggin' selfish and move on. The time you spend whining and pining away, you could be looking at other avenues to find your goodies.
"I shouldn't have to." Well guess what bucko? You do. We all do. You're no more special or important than the rest of us. We do the footwork and suffer with the losses just the same as you do. Does it suck? Yeah. Is it fair? Life's not fair.
Yeah, you should have to. We do.
