Wow, that's crazy weird...I was just thinking this same thing this morning after reading the Kup Spotlight yesterday. Plus, I just recently read The War Within again and Kup and Ironhide are part of Grimlock's squad. I liked seeing them together; makes sense.
Anyway, I would say Kup, also...with Ironhide being part of his first group of trainees. Kup was pretty fresh himself, but had seen enough action to take a group under his wing. That's my take on it anyway.

Kup was designed to be Ironhide's replacement post movie (older bot who is an adviser to the Prime).
I'd say Kup, but I'm not certain on that at all.

In the tech specs, it says that Ironhide is the oldest Autobot. But of course, that was before the Kup character was introduced. Ironhide's tech specs could probably be based on the original 16 Autobots.
Officially, I have never seen or read anything to determine who is the older of the two.

I think that both Kup and Ironhide are from the same "generation", all other guys like Prowl, Jazz, Magnus, etc came after them.

I would call Kup older. His body looks like it has been through a lot. The flashback in "Chaos" shows Kup in lighter colors in his younger years.
Ironhide's body shows no signs of age, and he acts like an impatient younger soldier.

In the IDW comics, I'd say Kup. In the G1 cartoon, it's less clear but something about Kup (perhaps his grizzly or miserly attitude) suggests he is slightly older than Ironhide. I can't even remember Ironhide in the Marvel comics so I have no idea about those.

Kup. But just by a little. At least, that's what I think.
Life can be pretty sweet when your alt-mode is a B-2 Stealth Bomber.

I presume Kup is older than Grimlock. Grimlock love Kup's war stories.

the reason Kup looks and acts older in the cartoon is probably that he's been up on Cybertron fighting the good fight whilst Ironhide and the rest of the Arc crew have been laying down on the job for 4million years. They could easily be the same age, chronologically, but I think Kup's been through a bit more.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

I see what you mean. You're saying that Kup could be more weathered, could have suffered more wear and tear. Is that right?

Exactly. Like a G1 toy that you had as a kid, played with outside in your garden, dropped rocks on in an Autobot City battle type of thing compared to one you just bought off e-bay that was a hundred quid but still MISB. Both made at the same time but it's easy to tell which has seen more action.
