Decepticlone Soundwave wrote:Aww, I was hpoinf by the title you would include TM Optimal Optimus & TM2 Megs. Anyways, I like the BW 10th that were given a Cybertron release as well. Not the Cybertron versions themselves, but the BW color schemes. Those figures are great, & I like the reference to TM Optimus w/the whole hover board thing.

I own the Hasbro 2 Pack reissues 10th anniversary Toys R Us exclusive Optimus primal VS Megatron. Is there any difference between the Japanese Box set and the Toys R us Hasbro exclusive???

The Takara version has a CD-rom with pictures and stuff on it. The toys themselves are the same though.

no its a special hobby store repaint, I forget the name though...
I do like optimal optimus, and the Megatron upgrade for Beast Wars Transmetals...
are they worth the purchase price??
So is the general consensus that Beast Wars reissues from Takara are the best representations, or that the 2 pack voyager class Optimus Primal VS Megatron are the real deal??

Takara 2 Pack kicks ass. The hasbro one has its problems. but The takara one costs 60.00 -149.00. But I am going to go with the takara ones due to them being Very show Accurate.

What Problems?? i thought the only difference was the CD-ROM and Box.. but that the figures remained the same..?? I own the Hasbro Toys-R-Us exclusive and it looks show accurate to me...unless the Takara one has silver legs, but the pic i have above from Seibertron's gallery shows he has white like the one I own from Hasbro.. i wish i had a pic of the Hasbro one next to the Takara one for reference.. Darn it!!! anyone have the Hasbro 2 pack they can lend Ryan for images, mine is staying in the Hasbro box..
Or does anyone have a link that shows a comparison of the difference??

Odd, my transmetal Megatron has never shown any sign of GPS whatsoever.

Megatron is missing an 'o' ring which creates a degree of looseness or non-ratcheting motion in his torso. The Takara version does not have this issue, though it does seem to be a minor one.
Nightwatcher fixed his TRU Megatron with an 'o' ring from a vintage Megatron.
You previously asked about Transmetal stuff.
Get Metals Megatron instead of Transmetal (US) Megatron. TM Megatron has GPS. The hinges which swing his arms foward are just faulty and will almost certainly break over time.
Metals Megatron is made much better. Some will complain that he isn't as show accurate and well, they're kind of right.
It really depends though. In some scenes, his 'gold' really is the deep rust color that the Metals toy sports. It totally depends on the scene and lighting.

I have the BWR Takara set and my brother has the Hasbro set. The "o" ring is missing from all the Hasbro sets. That missing "o" ring is annoying, but like Counterpunch said, you can replace it with one from a junked original Megs or T-Rex.

isn't there something else i could use besides an O-ring, don't they deteriorate over time?
