Rodimus Prime wrote:I haven't seen any discussion over this, and I wasn't sure if I should have posted it in the Combiner Wars thread.
Anyway, I was wondering if a combiner made of the G1 Dinobots would be feasible now that all the other combiners are being updated, and we are even getting a fan-made female combiner. I for one would love to see some updated Dinobot molds, considering Hasbro has said the original molds are beyond saving. So if there are Generations updates to the Dinobots, why not make them a combiner?
One more question: should there be a Dinobot combiner? There were several things that made the Dinobots stand out as a team from the other teams in G1, and one was that they weren't able to combine. I understand there are lot of facets involved, such as mental and physical compatibility, among other things. So should the Dinobots have the ability to turn into 1 gigantic unstoppable beast, or are they better off apart?
The answer to this question is always "No" if you're referring to the original five G1 Dinobots, which you are. This is not a thing that needs to be a thing, for any reason, at any timeRodimus Prime wrote:should there be a Dinobot combiner?

I'd love to see Sludge as the Voyager instead of Grimlock again, Brontosaurus being the largest of the Dinobot beasts. Snarl and Slag could very well be retools of each other, and Grimlock as a limb could potentially be retooled into a Spinosaurus (Scorn!) or some other theropod (Spino's the most distinct from T. rex, though), and Swoop would probably end up being the Legends figure so he can make either an impressive chestplate or a pair of wings for the combined mode.

A leader class and 4 voyager class figures?Optimum Supreme wrote:I say yes, but it would need to be titan size in combined form, since they should be taking on Devastator.

Do you think the fans would complain that this is how Hasbro is finally making the Generation Dinobots?
GuyIncognito wrote:I'd love a dinobot combiner, but it's clear that Hasbro wants to create combiner molds that can be repurposed for several characters, so I don't see them doing dinobots. I realize that Devastator has unique molds that can't really be repurposed (aside from repainting, like in G2 colors), but I don't see them giving Dinobots the same treatment.
If we see CW Dinobots, I think they'd be more likely to be standalone figures that don't combine; maybe Legends; maybe a Leader Grimlock.thedistinctroom wrote: Hasbro could do anything they wanted, really.
Not really. They have obligations to their stockholders. They have to make decisions that are financially sound. They can't just do anything that strikes their fancy, or for fan service.
