Wreckage: the odd one out?

Postby Thanatos Prime » Sat Jun 09, 2007 7:02 pm

Am I the only one who thinks that perhaps Wreckage was supposed to be in the movie? He doesn't seem to fit in with the other "non-movie" toys but rather he seems like he has had more time and thought put into him.

Was he originally supposed to be in the movie?

That's kinda what I'm talking about. He seems like the designers were designing x-amount of characters and then they had to drop one from the movie and he [Wreckage] was already designed or something. All the other filler characters have simple faces and designs.

maybe thats true or they originally made him, but then decided not to use him and instead put someone else in his place.

its probably due to the fact that they had to make the movie as a possible one-time only thing, just in case it flopped at the box office (like that would ever happen) but they went ahead and designed the toy/character and it will seen as only a glimpse of other TF's on earth, preparing viewers for a sequel

Maybe a movie character got scrapped and the toy was to pretty to throw away.

wasn't it because he was supposed to be a big character in the game?

Yeah, he might be in the game. If he was gonna be in the movie, I think He'd replace Bonecrusher and his walnut of a head.

You mean his evil walnut of a bus-killing, Prime-fighting, highway-skating head!

I think he used to be Megatron, cos i read somewere that Megs was planed to be a tank. And He looks a lot like Megatron.

Wreckage isn't at tank though. He's a personel carrier. He's just transport - no real fire power to speak of.

maybe thats why he isnt in the movie. maybe having a personal carrier doesnt fit into the storyline in some way. i know the others dont exactly have a 'fit' either but they do since they are normal cars or something.

not when he features Automorph.

Can some one elaborate on how he is on the same design level as some of the Movie characters? I'm not sure I see it.

He's definitely a boss in the game, I've heard it again and again that he'll be in it.

I can see that he is a little under-armed for a Decepticon, considering the weaponary some of the other bots are boasting. If he were in it I reckon he may have replaced Blackout. He's a personnel carrier, which is what Blackout is reported to be (in that he transports Decepticons around). I mean it makes as much sense to see a personnel carrier roll into a military base (Qatar) as a helicopter. And I'm sure there's enough room inside for Scorponok to be comfortable. ALSO, he has melee weapons, which are rather like Blackout's blades.

Of course, we'll never know really, will we?

Arcee seems to be made for the movie as well. She has the movie-type face and body.

Wreckage: the odd one out?

Postby Repair Bay » Mon Jun 11, 2007 8:44 am

Wreckage WAS supposed to be in the movie, they even filmed his alt. mode, and probably did the CGI. when was it reported he wasn't gonna be a part of the movie?

Then why are there no movie photos(the ones that came out while they were filming)? We saw the design layouts for all of the other Transformers but never anything for him. If he was to be in the movie it never got to far. Also all the people that read the script have never mentioned anything bout wreckage from what I can tell.

I get the feeling Wreckage was included in the line "just cause". He's obviously not in the movie, hasn't appeared in any of the publications (unlike Arcee) and there's no word if he's supposed to be in the game (unlike Swindle, Dreadwing, Mixmaster, Scrapper, and "Longarm").

Still a nice little toy for a no show.
