Yet more Fusion stuff...

Postby Ramrider » Mon Aug 28, 2006 3:02 pm

Another Fusion piece in the works here... When I saw Cybertron Downshift, I knew I wanted it. Wheeljack already had a fig in the Fusion range (reworked from Energon Downshift), so I figured for this one I'd go with the obvious clone 'bot... Slicer!

Vehicle mode. I intend to continue the colour theme across the roof and rear of the car, too. Maybe something on the doors, but I'm not sure what yet.

Robot mode (legs and underside are still to be done, so I haven't reattached them yet), with AM Slicer for reference.

Any ideas?

how about a plain stripe on his doors that matches that purple on his arms? too bad you can't dye the orange plastic into that hot pink color of his windows.

Hmm... interesting idea. That may be worth a crack, thanks Ravage. As for the windows, I'm actually pretty happy with the red as is; I think pink would look silly on him, and besides, the window on the Action Master doesn't seem all that pink; I think that's just the way it came out on the photo...

Hey Ramrider, looking great there and about time Slicer got an update (well, kind of an update anyway).

He looks spot-on and those wiggly red/black lines are a great way to incorporate the black and red of the AM colorscheme and at the same time breaking up the overall blue.

Was thinking, AM Slicer has these black parts on his chest. Maybe you could imitate this but painting those two raised parts on the hood (beneath the engine/head) black.

Thanks. Actually, Rawhide, I was thinking about painting the little vents black. But I think doing that whole section black would be overkill - I think the stripes break the chest up enough without it. It might have been another nice hat-tip if I weren't doing the stripes, but I think it's an either/or thing.

^ Think I very much agree. Doing that whole section black would indeed be overkill. (Was actually suggesting it with some hesitation.) Just the vents would be enough to give it the same blackness from the AM.

well, the pink windows look more red than the purple on his arms, but more purple than the red on his legs, so that's why I'm guessing it's pink. are you making the windows at least an orangey red? they look darker than normal, but still pretty orangey.hard to tell, really.
oh, I also notice his shade of blue is more blueish and less greenish. not that it has to be an exact match.
still pretty sexy.

Yeah, the windows will be proper red by the time I'm done. He may need a couple more coats to be on the safe side.
And the blue on the Action Master, really, is not very green at all... more of a pure plasticky blue. My version has a slight purple tinge - it's a mix of Inscribe 'Soldier Blue' (kind of an Air Force blue) and Ultramarine. I thought he needed something a little darker to suit him, and I liked how this colour came out.
