G1 for sure.
All the cool kids brought their Transformers to school, so I needed to get me some too.
My parents weren't big on letting me see the cartoon, but I did watch it now and again. Not nearly enough to appreciate the whole backstory though: back then I had NO idea what Cybertron was all about, and I hated Cybertronian modes, so I was put off after the second season.
Beast Wars got me back.
I'm so meta, even this acronym...

Though technically G1 was the first Transformers fiction I ever saw, it was a little before my time, and I didn't really know what it was.

Beast Wars, however, started up when I was 9, and as such I was right in the target demographic. I watched the first season religiously every morning before school. It didn't hurt that the animation was striking and the scripting and voice acting still (in my humble opinion) the very best in any TF cartoon.

After the travesties that were Armada and Energon (whose toylines I was still collecting), I left the fandom for several years, and didn't return until 2010.

My first series was Beast Wars. It came on the air when I was but the humble age of 3. Because they were talking animals they were easy to relate to other shows of my age group. And there was also an adjoining line of toys to go with the characters I saw. My infatuation quickly spread and I was asking my mom to rent me VHS's of G1 episodes and even Voltron.

My relationship with the series has never taken any sort of official break, the only time worth mentioning would be around the Energon line. I would have been around 10 at the time and with no real income of my own it was hard to buy figures. The way the TV schedule was arranged also made it hard to watch episodes, to this day it remains the only series I haven't finished.

But that's all in the past now, my collection is expanding exponentially now thanks to my job and thanks to the internet I never miss an episode of the series.

The first TF series I ever really watched enough to care about was Armada; I still occasionally watch it on YouTube for nostalgic purposes. I was only six or seven at the time. Despite all of it's flaws, translation issues, all of that stuff, I still think it was a good show. Love the anime-style feel.

G1 was my first series, all the way back in the 1980's when I was like 3-4. I'm pretty sure Transformers started my childhood obsession with robots that's never, ever gone away. Naturally, that big retro boom back in the early 2000's when Generation 1 Transformers were once again everywhere was very welcomed by me. :)

cybertron was the first show I regularly watched but Beast Machines was the first show I actually saw. (Granted I was about 4 years old.)

I was a young boy when I fell in love with TF but it hadn't been dubbed G1 yet. Also loved Beast Wars, and I agree that Megatron is one of the best. Although I disagree that he was arrogant, more optimistic I think. Armada was ok but had a great ending. Energon was boring with really annoying human characters. Prime is awesome. Haven't seen robots in disguise

I remember that my first transformers toy was RiD Grimlock, but the first series I got into was Armada. I distinctly remember staying up late one night and watching Jetfire's debut episode. I also remember crying my eyes out when Smokescreen died (Hey I was like 4 I didn't know he'd be back). I even liked Energon when I was little...very, very little. And even now the series holds some kind of charm for me. So yeah, I'm a Unicron Trilogy child, and I've never looked back. 8)

Technically Beast Wars, but that was rather sporadic viewing. Only saw it whenever I happened to catch it (never memorized the schedule), and I think the only reason I even watched it was because CGI was such a novelty back then. I had a few of the toys, but I just wasn't into the series.
Regardless, it was enough for me to go "munky not trukk" when Beast Machines rolled around.

My "proper" introduction, however, was the '07 Movie.
