All right, follow PSN users, the PSN is now offering a small amount of free stuff as an apology for everything going screwy a while back.
There happens to be a bug running rampant where after selecting a required option before picking a game, it will instead vanish and not let you choose. Well, if that happens, here's a fun fix I learned from a glorious man:
(If, at any step, you run into an error message, just try it again)
Go back to the XMB and select Account Management
Then, select Transaction Management
Select Services List, then SCEA Promotion
You'll be able to download your free games from there.
In case anyone is wondering, for my first game, I chose Infamous. Still trying to decide my next game, probably Little Big Planet.

Grabbed Wipeout and Dead Nation. Not too impressed with Dead Nation, think I need to tweek the controller a bit. But Wipeout ... goddamn i'm too old for stuff that intense!

Also LBP does have online features through the PSN download. I get leaderboards every time I finish a level and it offers to let me play with other people.

My PS3 finally accepted the new firmware and I'm operational now.

Yeah, if the price is in yellow, that's the price Plus users pay. Though apparently any of the free stuff you can't keep once your subscription runs out, though I don't know if that applies to the paid-stuff.

Well that sucks. If it aint free I aint paying. I dont wanna give any of my Credit Card info, atleast not right now.
