The same thing happened with the remake of Battlestar Galactica If a fan is willing to make death threats because of a movie, they are no fan at all.

Here's hoping the movie's a huge success. Differences of opinion do not warrant threats of violence. Under ANY circumstances.

I can't say anything that hasn't been said already by a hundred people, just that I hope this movie's a success.

But, I don't feel that there's no need for us to apologize, it's the idiots that sent the death threats in the first place that need to apologize!

The point is, death threats happen all the time, in every production in every media.
That someone doing a movie has gotten death threats is not any "weird" news.

I feel that it was only told to:

A. Give Bay a pity-party, so undecided viewers feel they're defending him by shelling out to see the movie.

B. Create the idea in the public's mindset that "Anyone you hear complaining about the movie is an obsessively psychotic GEEK".

This is SO not news, but they're making it sound like it is.
Ask yourself why.
