Questions about the game
Hi all,
Started playing a few days ago, read the help/faqs and what posts I could find here.
I have a few questions, here they are:
1 - Weapons are strange, some seem increadibly good, others incredibly bad. Are dmg ranges just an aproximation, ie a moderate-heavy can be like 10-15% dmg, while another moderate-heavy could be like 8-18% dmg?
So far it seems like the 3/2 Battle Blades are very overpowered, the same being true for some other weapons.
2 - Any maths for the game, regarding how much stats/skills affect each actions, etc?
3 - Are there any modifiers from the alt mode, appart from the tactics that can be learned? Like Helicopter, Insect are exactly the same, but Airplane just seems better...
Thanks in advance.

Yeah there are many strange things in HMW that don't work properly, which is why the game is going to be reset and upgraded into HMW2 very soon. The weapons should be balanced properly then.

Hopefully Tammuz can help here No doubt he'll be along later.

The alt modes currently are there to look pretty and give you access to different tactics. Again this will be changed in HMW2 very soon. The alt modes should tehn be more balanced in terms of tactics, currently the difference between a Motorbike (Avoid) and a Car (Avoid & Strafe) solely comes down to the car having an extra tactic available.

Hi Supercollider,
Thanks for you answers mate, appreciated. Seems like a good time to try out some stuff and get to know some people, before v2 comes out.
Waiting on Tammuz for the number-crunching session then
I'm old school RPG (pen&paper that is) and strategy games, so optimizing little numbers runs in the blood. Sad for some I know...

Heck I work in finance, I push numbers for a living!
Actually, if you've checked out the Con only board I think Tammuz and a few others will have probably posted a lot of those kind of detials already.

Ok not so easy for me to show you as I'm a bot but if you go into your registry page in the game there should be a link in between Battle Beast Gambling & Discussion Board - OS only put that in today. Before that you had to got to the root forum and scroll down to "Darkmount" I think it's called.

It's not a bug. I'm still working on a script to automatically give new players access.Symbiote Spiderman14 wrote:it should be available to all decepticons maybe it has something to do with you just signing up. Pop in the Insecticon's Lair: Problem/Bugs thread and let OS know
Sideimpact - Give me a day or so and you'll be able to get in along with all the other new players.

Honestly, you picked the right faction then. The cons seem to be as analytical as Shockwave when it comes to this game. Would have been nice to have another bot mathematician, but from an overall perspective, I'm glad to see Tammuz have more potential talent to tap.

Hmm, I do math! But I restrict it to Fight Club otherwise I'd get all OCD about it all.

To be honest, I could probably have a bash at working some stuff out as well if I could be bothered to. I might see what I can do after V2 hits.

you'll have to, as the more of the game i know the less i can tell you about, as only what comes from my analysis of the game, not from OS am I free to pass on.
it's not all about Maths, after all Bun-Bun, my partner in crime still professes a complete lack of comprehension when it comes to the maths.
and nothing's as over powered as the blades, SI..

If everyone has all the mathematical algorithms behind the game it would remove most of the expirementation/competition aspects from it.
If only certain players have dishonestly gotten all the mathematical algorithms behind the game they have an unfair advantage. I would consider that cheating. Any form of cheating is going to be absolutely not tolerated in the new game.

Have one more question. When are weapons added to the shop? I notice them poping up here and there, but are there any fixed times or anything?

That'd be when people sell them on.
Sometimes the programmer will do a weapons restock but as OS is busy working on the soon to arrive Version 2, where we should have less weapon problems, I doubt that'll be happening before V2 debuts.
