quick review of Device Label Grimlock

He just arrived from HLJ this morning and its not as bad as many people at first thought.

As a mouse he is a little bit on the small side, but no where near being uncomfortable. The optics work perfectly no lag, the buttons are responsive as is the wheel, even if the wheel does feel a little cheap.

When plugged in it registered the mouse as a human interface device which I thought was a quiet funny.

It does have a little LED light lighting up the autobot symbol when plugged in to a usb port.

Sadly as everyone thought the lead is not detachable which is a major bummer.

the transformation is simple apart from the dinosaur hands which when it is first out of the package are tucked away in an open position, when you re transform it you can store it in the fist position but I get the feeling if any one put too much pressure on when using the mosue it could damage the hands if stored in this way.

You first sweep the legs down and out then pull the neck section up half way allowing the shoulders to be able to be positioned to give clearence for the arms to sweep down. This is important as it has barely a 1mm gap for the open position hands to get through, if you have very small fingers to move the thumb in to a fist position it will help tremdously as the clearence is hard to get through.

Once the arms have been pulled down its just a question of unfolding the rest and pulling the tail tab down to give extra stability.

Each leg has 3 points of articulation (hip, knee and ankle) as do each arm (Shoulder, elbow and fingers/thumb). the neck has realistically 2 (neck and jaw) but I suppose you could class the joining part of the neck to the main torso as one too giving it 3 points.

Totalling 15 points of articulation.

All articulation is very G1-esque, IE: back and forth. Not much dynamic posability with this one. The colour scheme works nicely although I am worried about the amount of gold plastic on this and that in time it may become brittle.

Its probably the most expensive economy mouse youll ever buy, but as a TF fan Im actually quiet pleased with it plus if your using it at work and have your usb Ravage and your bored you can always have a little minibattle when no one is looking :)

Sorry about the low res pictures I dont own a high res camera yet

Thanks for the review! I've seen these guys around and while I can't see myself buying one it's good to know they're not bad.

Does it come with any software bonuses like Ravage?

Sadly no, Im tempted to get tigertron now and the decpticon mouse if I can find them cheap but in the UK the importers are shying away due to the high price tag these things have.
