Jazz is definitely older and more experienced than Bumbles. He's smooth, suave, adept at learning foreign cultures. If he had landed in China he would be a real Han gentleman.

Well, that's a guess on my part about Ratchet. If he's not older than Prime, he's the same age. He's definitely got the "wise old owl" feel (and look) to him. Well, let's put it this way, he's up there. lol

Lol. To me, Prime is the ancient one. I can understand if someone disagrees though. Ratchet does indeed have the wise, bumbling owl thing going.

Ratchet doesn't seem old to me. He just seems like he's seen more than his share of bad things. That and he's darn good at his job and he knows it.

Prime does seem to be wise beyond his years, but according to all the info we've seen...Ironhide's one of the oldest TFs out there. Kup sure beats him by leaps and bounds, but Ironhide's almost ready for the walker. lol

In the Movie, prime seemed older to me. When they Co-ruled cybertron, i'd see Prime as the older wiser one, while Megatron would be the younger, rash, more aggressive, and stronger of the two.

As for Ratchet's voice, yes he sounds old, but it suits him. he's an old medic, meaning you can trust and depend on his skill.

Also i think bumblebee is the runt of the group, the one that gets captured, left behind, or more suited for espionage than combat.

Whoo, I like the idea of older men being heroic in a beloved show like Transformers!

Ironhide and Ratchet seem pretty youthful for their ages (IMHO), but Wheeljack is the one who seems a bit old, heh. And a bit eccentric, too.

Thats basically what I don't get... Ratchet talked like he was old... Ironhide didn't even sound old! How can this be...

Some of you may disagree with the age of Bumblebee, and though he may look young... but then I ask this question : why would OP put him as a guardian and a protecting friend to Sam? Surely he must have much more experience than others of the group.

I think he's confusing movie Bumbles with G1 Bumbles. The G1 guy was indeed annoying and lame. But this movie Bumblebee is not only cute, he is an elite warrior!

But Jazz is overall more experienced and older than Bumbles. Jazz is Prime's second-in-command. Bumblebee was assigned to protect Sam because he is an elite spy/infiltrator. He is the youngest but that doesn't mean he can't kick butt! Come to think of it he was the only Autobot who actually took down TWO Decepticons! (Barricade + Brawl). Even Prime only took down Bonecrusher.

ratchet says one line in the movie, it might be "The boy's pheromone levels suggest he wants to mate with the female" i think he sounds like Kup. I think of ratchet as the age old veteran medic. he has thousands of years of experience patching up bots in combat. notice how he has only a personal defence weapon and no rocket launchers his bio says he's not a fighter, but only returns fire to protect his patient or himself, hence the cover fire.

So is he a grandpa or someone that just don't like upgrades to his weapons?

Why upgrade when you got a massive circular saw sticking outta ya wrist?

Okay, okay. he does have a badass hand cannon, but he is still the youngster...

Actually Bumblebee took down Barricade but didn't entire finish him. However Bumblebee was involved in more combat than any of the other Autobots particularly because he is assigned with Sam as has to guard him from any harm. And in the database... and this is not fake all the other Transformer Related sites have it too. Jazz's skill level is not as high as Bumblebee's... and skill is basically experience in the team and other stuff that involve experience. So... Jazz might be second - lieutenant but that doesn't mean he will have to be more older or more experienced. Of course in real life a lieutenant would have more experience. But I don't think this is the same case. However I do know that Ironhide is more experienced than any of the other Autobots except for Prime.

Waah? In that case Bumblebee would have been second in command long ago. Fact of the matter is, he is not up in the command ranks as Jazz is. Of the 5 Autobots, Ratchet and Bumblebee are the lowest-ranked.

Ratchet does sound like a grandfatherly figure, he was done by Robert Foxworth. Thing is that I just don't like that he tripped on the wires, that would have been something I could see Cliffjumper doing and Ratchet being like "That's another short circuit I need to fix on you. Try to look before you leap next time Cliffjumper." But in a fatherly manner.

If you're going on voices as the means for age, better not, BB's voice should have been younger becuase he is the youngest in the movie, followed by Jazz, Ironhide, Prime and Ratchet, I think. I should note that he's the one that things should be resolved without violence, and that at least follows what Ratchet in G1 understood.

I just wish that they would have made the designs better and given them more shell.
