Repaint advice for SG figure

I want SG Ultra Magnus to look different from Optimus Prime. Overload's mold seems a good way of making the character and I can get one very, very cheap (£5). Anyway, what do you think of his paint scheme before I start painting? I may or may not remold the head.

While the paint scheme looks like SG Prime the mold makes him different looking enough and damn does it looks awesome! 
I say go for it but maybe paint the "rings" around the things sticking out of the top of his shoulders read?
