First a quick blurb on my thoughts on repaints - I like repaints in general, especially when it's a character I was looking forward to seeing. But a lot of times I'm left scratching my head about repaints, and realize that it's just a quick money grab by Hasbro (which is fine, the more cash they generate, the more cool stuff we get), and I usually just skip them.

Now back to the topic of this thread. Recently I've made some big changes with the displayed portion of my collection (I'll be posting pics of what's new soon), and in doing so, I had to put a large number of some of my all time favorite TF's away. As I was transforming them and boxing them up, I realized that there were a few molds that I really liked beyond the character they represented. In fact I realized that with these certain molds, Hasbro could repaint them over and over again, and I'd buy them every time. So I'm curious, what, if any, molds would you buy every time?

Here's my list:

- Cybertron Ultra Class Jetfire
- Cybertron Ultra Class Scourge
- Classics Deluxe Seeker mold
- Classics/Universe Deluxe Sunstreaker/Sideswipe
- Masterpiece Seeker mold
- Alternators Wheeljack/Grimlock
- G1 Omega Supreme - still trying to get my hands on an Omegatron

And of course, as a sucker for all things Prime, any Optimus Prime Black repaint.

It's late and I'm not thinking straight so I'll be brief and probably add more to my list at a later point.

Classics Hound - I love this mold and I would buy any repaint. I'd love to see an official Swindle repaint with slight retooling for the head sculpt and weapon accessory.

G2 Dreadwing and Smokescreen - I love this mold too. I have 2 of the 4 repaints of this figure. I just need the G2 and Robot Masters repaints for completion.

Classics Optimus Prime - Great figure, I really dig its contemporary look but rooted in G1 inspiration.

TFA Deluxe Oil Slick - A unique figure, very simple but elegant mold(I know it's odd to call a spiky, skull-adorned chopper "elegant" but the design is superb)

Any Alternators/Binaltech and Alternity figure - I love these lines. The colour scheme could be ugly as sin on a Sunday and I'd buy the repaint because I love the toy designs.

I'm not a big fan of repaints, usually one of a mold is enough for me. However I would buy a hundred different repaints of the Cybertron Hardtop mold, I love that one.

I gotta add the Cybertron Downshift, Evac, and Voyager Starscream molds here - I just can't get enuff of 'em. Classics Seekers, Prowl/Silverstreak/Smokescreen, and Sideswipe/Sunstreaker as well.

I must add RotF Voyager Stratosphere. I love this figure and after seeing Jin Saotome's Octane themed repaint, I'm thinking this figure has some great potential for repaints. The details are there to take advantage of with good a good character theme/colour scheme and paint apps.

Armada Air Defense Mini-con team. Will and have, bought the many versions that I have come across. Just needing the Energon Saber and every Takara release of the molds... which is quite alot.

I'm trying to get every color variant of Energon Strongarm, with the Botcon release and original being the only ones I don't have ignoring Japanese versions.

I also think the Energon gestalts are some of the best Transformers ever made, so if they make more worthwhile repaints of them I'd buy them.

My picks are

Classics Voyager Optimus Prime
Classics Seeker mold
Classics Jetfire
and basically any Binaltech and Alternator. Its a bonus if its a new character since I buy any new release of BT/Alt.

Do you consider regional differences (Hasbro or Takara)or running changes as repaints? So far, there isn't a mold that I would buy every time, but there are some that I've got several versions of and I'd like to expand upon on a conditional basis:

The minicon pulled trailer from Armada which combines with Prime (I've got three versions of this but I refuse to get the Botcon and the disgusting yellow exclusive repaints)

Masterpiece Seekers (I won't get the multiple versions of the same character, just one of each will do)

Classics Seekers (same as the MP)

Universe reversible sportscar (same reason as the seekers, plus I don't see myself picking up the Punch/Counterpunch repaint any time soon)

The other Universe sportscar (also the same with the seekers)

RID construction vehicle combiner (I've got two versions, can't seem to find the green universe repaint anywhere)

Beastwars insect combiner (I've got both Tripredacus and Tripledacus, but I refuse to buy the reissues of the arm and leg parts)

Beast Wars beast combiner (I've got both Hasbro and Takara versions but I've yet to find the black and white repaints of Lio Jr)

RID Magnus (I won't get the Hasbro version of the original colors since I've got the Takara version already, but I do want to get the recolor released in Universe 1.0)

RID 7/10 changer (I've got three versions, but the Dezaras Botcon version still eludes me)

I love the Cybertron Sideways mold and would buy just about any repaint or new character they make it into. Ratbat, Scourge and the Sweeps (whom I sadly must part with to keep a roof over my head!) are some of my favorite Universe repaints. Plus I've been meaning to use the mold for a Dawn of Future Past Depthcharge. Seriously, I love this design!

I have all 4 of the (American) Vector Primes. I want to get the rest of the Energon Chick Bikes. All 3 versions of both RiD and Armada Megatrons. Seekers by the half dozen. And all six of the Mighty Muggs (but those don't seriously count!)

Yeah, I'm a fan of repaints. As long as they aren't made of suck and greed.

So far I made sure I have all three main seekers in MP (although only one of each character, so far. Won't get WM Skywarp, but may one day get Takara Starscream for the proper MP box).

I will eventually get MP-01, MP-02 and MP-04, and probably the black version, too.

I made sure to get all 3 non-exclusive characters released in the U2.0 Sideswipe and Prowl moulds.

I also had to get the RotF Dead End and Swerve repaints of Sideways and Sideswipe. The Sideswipe mould in particular is very cool

I would almost certainly buy any future repaints of RotF Ransack. That little guy rules B-)

I love the MP Seekers. I only have the Takara version of the Hasbro 'toon accurate repaint so far but I'd like to get Skywarp and Thundercracker sometime down the road. Imagine a Hooligan repaint of the MP Seeker mold. Now that'd be quite a sight.

Obviously it all comes to color choice and I've passed on several repaints of molds I adore. However, one mold sticks out in my head that I'd buy again. The energon basic dinos. Cruellock, Doomlock and Dinobot Magma Type. For whatever reason I love that mold and the colors already done, I'd love to see more.
