I'm looking forward to these guys as I do not have a Rumble or Frenzy for my Neo-G1 shelf. But, I do think these guys are the weak links in the Generations/Reveal the Shield figures coming out as of late. I really do not care for the "pile drivers" behind his arm. I would have rather not had them at all personally.

For me, in both cases, the answer is found in an accumulation of the evidence and in pre-production materials.
The preproduction series Bible for the G1 toon states that Rumble should be the red robot.
The preproduction storyboards for the 86 film clearly states the Bombshell becomes Cyclonus.
