I just want to say that Bay sticking with G1 concepts and characters has made this movie what it is. He could have cheesed it up bad, but... the more he listed to fans and sticks with G1 concepts the BETTER!!! I've always said it!

Now having Cullen for Prime and the original voice of Soundwave on board. AWESOME!!!

Oh boy! I'm exited like Return of the King is being released for the first time!!!

Bay... you Rock! You have totally rocked this movie and I have no doubt the second one will be the Shiz! Darker... Empire Strikes Back Style!!!

I have the most respect because unlike other directors, producers, and writers, these people actually listen to the fan geeks and they win out every time! It's what they all should do when it comes to these types of movies. Go with the fans! The fans will make you millions. Not to be confused with the masses. Go with the fans... and the masses will follow.

Soundwave, Arcee, and Constructicons have all been a part of Animated.

Ravage was even used in Energon and Jetfire was a big part of Armada/Energon/Cybertron and even Sideswipe got a look in there.

So it sounds more like Hasbro have said "this is what we have names copyrighted for, go for it"

So don't get your hopes up over this being G1, because it's NOT! Time people accepted that the movies will be their own continuity and not have much of a connection to G1 or ANY era.

That was my point. There are LOTs of robots that have crossed generations obviously.

So? A lot of things from every series after G1 was taken from G1. By that logic, Beast Wars is SUPER DUPER FANTABULOUS BECAUSE IT HAD A MEGATRON AND A PROWL AND A IRONHIDE AND STUFF.

By that logic, Transformers Animated should also be ULTRA MEGA AMAZIG COS IT HAS OPTIMUS AND MEGATRON AND BLURR AND BUMBLEBEE AND RATCHET AND PROWL AND BLITZWING AND SWINDLE etc etc etc AND THEY EVEN USE SOME G1 VOICE ACTORS.

Of course the argument presented by Mattamus isn't that the movie tops everything ever because it has G1 aspects, its just that we should be super hyped about that fact. Of course its nothing new, so we can't.

That in mind, I'm not going to praise the Baymeister for giving so much to the fans. Frankly, all I wanted was a live action movie, not that they make it super G1. In fact, I'm getting kinda sick of G1 popping up here and in Animated. It's nice to pay homage but christ, nearly ALL of the cast of Animated are rehashes of G1, and while thats nice, it's a little 'meh' after a while.

Oh by the way

The Fallen was in Dreamwave first and Prime and Jetfire combining was in Armada before anything.

You also conveniently forgot to mention Wheelie was in it. So Bay can't be all that good.

Insecticons? I thought it looked like Sam was holding onto something that looks like Kickback in bug mode... glad to know I wasn't the only one who noticed.

Hmm, kinda hard to tell if ROTF is G1 all the way.
