Roberto Orci stating (in a way) that Transformers 2 may have up to 10 robots on each side, potentially doubling the cast of the first film (which stood at 13)

I'd love and think we could almost barely manage ten on each side, with some front and center and others as more supporting.

Sounds like enough...20 bots. Hopefully they can kill at least 8 of them off. How many were left from TF1??

Bonecrusher? Nope, he's dead. Scorponok though, is still alive and kicking. Good news by the way. Hopefully with this bigger budget we'll have a n actual 50/50 screentime with the robots and humans, or 60/40?

Am I the only one concerned about time restraints?

If they are going to have around 10 brand new robots to design/model/texture/animate and more importantly, render (with the current ones too, with promised extended robot action compared to TF1) they better get cracking on it if they want to complete it all for a June 09 release.

Maybe having more money this time, more resources might make it alright, but it seems like a lot to ask for in 12 months.

There was a report that said that the 3D models were being worked on well before the writer's strike.

They have plenty of time, don't worry.

I think 10 per side is just a little much. I like the Transformers stories where there are fewer combatants per side at once (Beast Wars, Animated, the first live action movie). It allows for better character development.

I agree with Lord T. Character development takes precedence over quantity, in my opinion...
Combined with the inevitable human storyline(s), battles, time limit and the like, I'd rather have a smaller number of transformers so the writers can actually attempt some quality screentime for them, rather than slap each character with one stupid line at most and then commence with the frantic albeit epic fight scenes. 20 just sounds like waaaaaay too much to pull off a decent liveaction Bay movie.

Yea...you may be right. 20 is a high number. I'm hoping at least 8 of them can be killed (& stay dead) in battle. Well have to see how TF2 turns out.

I'd like to see the Lambo twins if they interacted like they did in Dreamwave ongoing. Make Sunstreaker a badass not like his whiney IDW depiction. Plus the Botcon RID Prowl repaints fit the movie aesthetic.

Jetfire? I assume they want to give us some kind of TF dogfight.

Arcee, it's inevitable plus I'd be surprised to not see a few toy characters in there.

12 months is a long time, I'm sure it can be done, especially with the amount of people they have working on it.

On EACH side? Considering that one of our early story breaks featured a three-way battle, could that mean 30? If there were only two sides, the story would read "either," but it's too common a grammatical error to go on. Still, this would keep the feeling of the Autobots being outnumbered. 20 'cons, who fortunately are more busy fighting each other than our side. The utter chaos that such a battle could present boggles the mind, which is probably exactly the sort of thing Bay would love.

Most combiners have five or six bots in each one so even if there is a combiner in any of the movies it still leaves plenty of room for he rest of them...they also don't need to stay in gestalt mode the entire time.

If the Constructicons are there....I will be as happy as I was when they made Armada(the "G1" of my era).

But Bonecrusher might live, his head was cut off, but Frenzy still made it. Why can't he?(because he HATES his movie role)

A bigger budget means more bots indeed! ILM alone took forty million dollars as their fee for the first film so TF2's budget should be at least 175-200 million this time around you'd imagine.

Also, there is supposed to be a "better balance of robot to human" screen time and story line than the first film.
