It's not horrible overall, but I was still disappointed. It's basically CW Megatron upgraded. That figure was a big sweaty turd. The backpack is huge and the cannon is hideous. This is NOT "G1." I understand he can't be a gun, but at least make him a better tank.

The tank itself is good, but they could have skipped the missile launcher gimmick and make the tank canon compress more to be the arm canon. Also, it could have been possible to at least lower the tank threads lower on Meg's back so that they appear less from the front.

Still, overall, he's not too bad and the transformation is impressive.
Not 2 grands Canadian impressive though.

I'll never understand the trend of giving Megatron a smaller canon in tank mode. Granted, we were supposed to believe that Megatron's tiny gun mode was somehow the most destructive weapon in the universe, but that's so ridiculous and over the top that kinda works. But it's hard to apply that to a tank that we already think of as having a powerful canon. It may not be realistic but I would much prefer his tank mode just be a longer version of his fusion canon and not a thinner tapered barrel. In my eyes the only figure that's done it remotely right is the Titans Return figure, though admittedly it wasn't great execution.

Yeah, the TR figure got Megatron mostly right, despite the hamstring of being a triplechanger. If his fusion cannon had had a cylindrical top end, it would've been close to perfect.

Megatank was the one who did the concept right.

The Bee Concept leader Megatron is also almost there.

I think it's pretty sweet. Not $1200 sweet, but "I'm happy this exists in the world" sweet.

I noticed he does have a very similar/near-exact transformation scheme to CW Leader Megatron barring a few differences. While CW Leader Megatron gets a lot of flack, I will always love him despite his flaws.

Thankfully I can miss out on this and it won't feel like I'm missing out by not getting this, even if I could. Even if I wasn't on a fixed income, I can't justify 900 dollars for a toy. So I couldn't even begin to afford it or think about affording it anyway. Not to mention, I would be devastated if I wasn't one of the lucky 40 to get Frank Welker's signature even if I had the money to order it.

This makes me wonder about how Studio Series 86 Megatron will look when it is time for its pending release.

Robosen went for a tank alt mode for their version of Megatron. The design and Transformation is loosely based on the Combiner Wars leader version we had a decade ago. In the video below you get a rundown of all the features, including voice clips, commands, and even a firing gimmick. They also highlight how he breathes when he's not commanded anything, which is a bit of an odd feature they keep including, since robots don't breathe.

To me, the fun of transformers is transforming them myself. Putting them into cool spots. Having fun. One that does itself, it kind of takes over half of why I bought them away.

Plus that lady annoyed me. I tried to finish the video 3x. She made it impossible. Giddy when the turret changed size. Come on
