at least he didn't turn into a flying squirrel.

It's a hand.
1) hand
2) two headed dragon
3) robot
4) jet
5) car
When he becomes Galvatron he gets 5 extra modes.

Anyone got an actual toy of Megatron? I can't seem to find it in the gallery.
Is the "hand" mode available in the toy?

I would have no clue about the show. But the Sky-byte figure is good. It was my first Transformer, but that was even before I liked Transformers. I just wanted it cause it was a shark. Pretty good figure, but it's really easy to lose the shark fins in the snow(long story) and also I noticed if you get his predacon symbol wet it either shrinks or grows. He is kind of top heavy with all that shark kibble though.

That gallery is still missing, so it Galvatron. The hand mode is part of the toy, and even has a thing to push to activate a gripping motion. In the cartoon Megs has 5 modes and Galvatron has 10 but the toy Galv is a repaint of Megs which means if you buy Megs you still get 10 modes, just no instructions for them. Here are pics of them all:
http://www.cliffbee.com/reviews/ridmegatron.phpAlthough they are a bit small and the hand has the thumb in the wrong place and the wings unfolded so it doesn't look very hand like. But if you've seen the cartoon that's pretty much what the toy looks like!

Thanks for the link.
The robot is not bad. But all of the alt modes it's supposed to transform to, doesn't resemble what it supposed to be at all. Not even by a long shot. The best it can get is to resemble a vague silhouette of them. And you've got to have a really really imaginative mind to be able to get it.
This is really weird. Worst than the pile of metal crap Movie Megatron.

Small correction there. While it's true that the Hasbro releases of both Megatron and Galvatron were both capable of all 10 modes that's only because they were both based off the version of the mould used for the Takara version of Galvatron, Devil Gigatron. The original Takara release of Gigatron (Megatron) had some clever bits of gubbins inside to prevent it being able to transform into the final 4 modes that Galvatron recieved with his upgraded form. So for a show acurate RiD Megatron you need to track down a Car Robots Gigatron (if you were to care that much).

I knew there was something like that but couldn't be bothered to go into detail! Are you saying they added something to stop the final modes and removed them for the Galv toy?
