For fans wondering when the marketing for next summer's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (which has recently wrapped filming aboard the USS John C Stennis) will begin, we may have our first indicator. Hunter Rose of TFormers.com has let us know that some "Revenge of the Fallen" t-shirts were handed out to theatre employees.
The film is set to be released on June 26th 2009. Very little, if anything, about the film has been revealed officially. No teaser poster, no trailer - but we may start seeing more.

Two questions come to mind.
1 - Is it just me or it a bit early to start sending stuff out to theaters?
2 - Since it's kinda on topic (because it involves promoting the movie): Will there be another viral campain? It'd make sense if they don't revive SectorSeven.org because Sector 7 was supposed to have been disbanded at the end of the last movie, but what about something else along that line? That was fun (even if the thing between Dr. Howard and Agent Powers got cheesy by the time their part of it ended). (They're probably making out on some beach in Costa Rica by now anyway.)

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.

Generally most theatres will have all the promo supplies for a feature anywhere from 6-12 months in advance of the opening date depending on the feature. I already sent a link to my coordinator and told her to log into our Dreamworks account:)

Dunno if you've seen his posts on SHH Skowl... but the friend giving Hunter Rose the scoop was caught trying to take a picture of the posters that were sent out with the T-shirts.
He's been suspended for a week withhis bosses keeping his camera for that week

Actually that was someone else entirely, his friend got caught trying to take photos of what may be a teaser poster shipped to theatres in a box labelled "do not open until Nov. 13th".
Apparently, they got suspended for a week because they couldn't wait one more day to open the box and actually see what's in it.
Looks like we might be getting a teaser poster tomorrow, just in time for a potential (surprise) trailer before James Bond on friday.
