on. He's got almost his entire robot body hanging off the jet as kibble!

Not to mention I found him pretty flimsy in jet mode, to boot.
Robot mode's not bad, but the jet mode is just... ugh.
Amen to that brother.
and to everyone saying how successful the leader class is, why are they always shelf warmers, even during the holidays when every other class, including Devastator was basically sold out.
There will be a voyager class. Jetfire was too popular to just be a leader legends and fab. the last 2 being pointless toys
Let's not knock the Leader Class too much now.
Optimus proves that Leader Class is a vehicle for remarkable engineering. (Both the upcoming Starscream, and supposed Bumblebee seem to carry this trend as well.)
Here are the problems with Leader Class (at least this past year and 2010)
1.) The economy. (No one can afford much in the way of necessities. A want will always lose out to a need. (And if it doesn't, your priorities need a check...)
2.) The price and pricing structure. (At $45.00, that's a rather costly item, but add in the fact that it's a toy, and it's a no brainer to most folks that you don't spend that kind of dough. Then you have the yo yo setup that Wal-Mart and Target pulled. One minute they're $45.00 a piece, the next they'd $35-45 and all points inbetween. And then Wal-Mart pulled a really boneheaded move...they raised the prices back up to $45.00 on the Wednesday before Christmas week. Christmas Eve and that week are among the absolute busiest shopping times...and they RAISED their prices. No wonder people didn't race right out and buy 'em.)
3.) "Bobby already has that one!" (Parents don't realize that ROTF Optimus is a Masterpiece level figure. Parents also don't care, because to them, it's toy with an exorbitant price tag. Some kids don't even know the difference and think "I got that one!" which doesn't help sales. And to the untrained eye, it's Optimus Prime. It's Megatron. We collectors, fans, etc did already buy a Leader Class version of both of them in the last film's release, and some of us felt no reason to repeat that for this one. So parents would definitely snap up the chance to avoid spending a utility bill's worth on a toy, especially one their kid seemingly already owns.)
None of that says the Leader Class is lacking. It says their price demands are too great, because they're being thrust upon a public that knows nothing of the incredible work behind these figures. If they were lower in price, Leader Class, especially ones made like Optimus and Starscream, would fly off the shelves and be difficult to keep on the shelves. If you could get a Leader Class figure for the price of an Ultra and save nearly $20.00 in the process, wouldn't you buy 'em up? I think so. I know countless collectors and fans who would.
Are the Leader Class figures perfect? Nope. Some terrible glaring errors, admittedly. But they're not bad enough to stop them from being sold.
It's the economy and pricing issues that have prevented sales the most.
And Devastator sold because the parents see that there's six pieces to it, it lights up, it talks, it transforms, etc. Wait until their children aren't impressed, or Mixmaster makes too much noise (I really hate that friggin' motion sensor in his vehicle mode..mine constantly makes noises...) or they realize it's one robot, not six (which is not a con or a bait and switch, it clearly says what it is!) I have the feeling you'll see them start returning to store shelves. Go take a look at eBay...people have been selling them (with shipping included!) for as low as $65.00! I love mine, but if I had paid $100.00... it would've lead to buyer's remorse and prompted a return. I got it on sale, and it was worth the $75.00 I paid, at least in my mind. (Plus the fact that Legends Skids and Mudflap are basically to scale with him and fit in his mouth, helps...)
The first movie proved to us that the toys are a smashing success.
The new ROTF figures (especially Ice Cream Truck Twins) are a success.
The repacks and repaints suffer the most.
But...this also proves to us just how bad the economy really is. When you see hot sellers such as the twins NOT selling, that's not indicative of a lack of quality, that's a tell tale sign that no one is willing to buy.
Not to mention, when the line was released, initially, it helped boost Hasbro's profits for the second quarter. A profit, a success.
Look at the whole picture before you try to paint over it with your's.
