Rumor: Transformers 3 - Sideswipe Goes Convertible

Someone's losing their top in Transformers 3 and it's not Megan Fox or Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Corvetteblogger has spotted a Corvette Stingray Concept, with altered aesthetics. While the likelyhood of this being owned by someone from the beautiful Beverly Hills is high, it's also quite possible that this is Sideswipe's appearance in Transformers 3. With the recent makeovers for Prime, Bumblebee and Ratchet, it would not be hard to imagine Sideswipe would be receiving one too. Check out the sleek speedster below.

Yeah, I'm not digging it. I think the lack of a full-height windshield throws off the aesthetics.
If true, there goes any chance of a movie-accurate Deluxe SS for TF3. Don't have the ROTF one w/ me, but what's under the roof, the arms? How many convertible TF cars have there been? I can think of the Alternators Honda S2000 and Dodge Viper, any Deluxes? On the Dlx scale it'll be harder to make it work.
The link above shows a better front-end view and describes some other changes- the ehadlights are now in the front end recesses, new dual hood scoops, different grill and wheels. Hmm. I'm starting to dig.

Wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro just repaints the existing mold but paints the roof a slightly different color and says he has his roof up (it's a convertible, after all).

I'm hoping this convertible is really Sunstreaker, with Sideswipe as the hardtop (even though he hasn't been spotted on the set yet). C'mon Bay - give us Sunstreaker already! Its doubtfull that this belongs to any private owner concidering that there are only a few versions of the the Sting Ray concept in exshistance. Non of which are in the hands of the general public.
I for one like this version. I don't see it being any less "manly" than the coupe.

Very true. There isn't likely a private owner of one of these outside of GM. Also, even though I prefer the hard top, this is still about as "chick magnet" as a car could possibly be. It is definitely not a wuss car.

It seems the next film could be getting edgy. The convertible Corvette last seen here, would very much appear to be Sideswipe's alternate mode in Transformers 3. Am I the only one that noticed this, but the Red Ferrari reported earlier as being a new autobot is at the front of that line! I'm hoping for Hot Rod/Rodimus or sunstreaker or blurr

Yeah, but the roof was the only thing hiding the back of the torso and the legs. If they make a toy of this, they'll need to do some insane retooling.
