Other than that, we don't need ANY more politics in a kids show. I wouldn't even call this politics.

But speaking of Tarantulus, it's too bad we won't get a deluxe figure of him. I think everyone was hopeful after seeing it's resemblance to the transmetal.

The beliefs and politics of a writer can't help but influence their work, what the writer can control is how it's presented. One of my favorite episodes of the original G1 cartoon is "Golden Lagoon." The episode is a commentary on how we treat the planet and nature but it doesn't hit you over the head with its message. There's no scene where Beachcomber lectures the Autobots about nature and the environment. Simply, the final line of the episode, which is the perfect example of talent working with the writers, is Beachcomber's lament, "We won." Even today it brings me pause and hits on a deeper level. I just don't see writing like that nowadays, even in Primetime television.

This view is so absolute nonsense.

If I understand you Glyph correctly.

So, you either have 0 politics in your kids entertainment fantasy sci fi show. As in, there is no war, there is no reason for war, there is no hierarchy because that's political.

Or you have a show that must promote: Body positivity, kinks, kids grooming, transexual story time with toddlers, Israel/Palestine references, Gay, Gay, more gay, women, strong women, white men are bad, men rule the world, men in women's bathrooms, structural racism (only against blacks of course), healthy at every size, all cultures are good cultures except nothern european cultures. As in everything is welcome in said kids entertainment sci fi fantasy show about alien robots.

Not to strawman and type "my truth", if I misunderstood you then ignore this whole post actually.

Why is it all so black and white for them?

What I think is that there can be politics in the tv show.
It's about war, it's about oppresion, it's about survival. About personal quests for redemption or vengeance. Now because everyone below 50 is completely perverted and oversexed, I think you need to keep romance just simple. Boy likes girl, gives her flowers and then ducks for cover from decepticon fire. That's the end of it. And yes these are modern times so I will allow boy likes boy.
However I think that stuff should be at a minimum since Transformers isn't about romance. It's an action cartoon. And why people need to push s*x to kids so freaking badly is beyond me. I think it's actually a but sus.

Sorry for somewhat offtopicness, next comment will be about toys, fantasy and sci fi.
