Holy cow.... How disenchanted I feel. I'm glad PRIME is getting quite a bit of love in the figure department, and I'm pleased Hasbro are righting some wrongs with the First Editions.

As far as Generations goes: what a load of crap. A load of cheap remolds and repaints and a collection of tiny cheap looking figures based on a game. I'll pick up Grimlock in the vain hope we'll get the rest of the Dinobots. If not he'll be out on his ass and Masterpiece will hold his place.

How disappointing. At least it saves me plenty of money for Hot Toys stuff.

Actually, Knock Out DOES seem to be inspired by Constructicon colors...

That's kind of bland though. I wish it was a specific Constructicon, and not just styled like them.

Edit: Actually, seeing as how Knock Out is a car, and not a construction vehicle, and doesn't have red eyes, yet features a predominant green with purple deco; couldn't he be homaging just "Wasp" from animated? Before he became Waspinator, he was a predominantly green and purple car!

It's weird that Laserbeak has a robot mode, but at the same, I've seen some good "bird mode" configurations for the mold.

Besides, Mindwipe is lonely!

Which reminds me, mine doesn't have a right foot (*insert long story involving a jackass ebay seller*), any suggestions on a decent fix that doesn't include the words "use his shin strut to make him stand," as that's what I'm doing now.

Regardless on how many homages these DEs have, the only one I'd most likely pick up is Megatron, just for the sake of making him my TFP Galvatron. Otherwise, overly used translucent plastic.

Impactor is orange... Am i missing something? I thought he was yellow... Also, for the brawl mold, it looks really fitting for Ironfist instead of topspin... especially in that colours.

From the perspective of someone that never read the UK comics(so I don't know what he was really like)... that seems kinda vein. Engineering your minions' combined form to look like yourself? Damn. Even tattooing your signature on their skidplates would be enough. This is too much.

Looks to me more like they designed the head of their gestalt's form to pay homage to their beloved Autobot leader and father figure. ;)

Then again, who are we kidding here? These are the Aligned Wreckers. Xaaron doesn't seem to even exist in this continuity.

Maybe. Let's keep an eye out in the bios of the Wreckers and Ultra Magnus toys.

Though, he might be a bit different, like how IDW used him. Then again, he was still a politician there, so if Aligned Xaaron's a politician too, then he might already be dead since the High Council seemed to be the only ruling political body of Cybertron before the war and all the High Councilors are either dead or Decepticons (or unknown generics using SZP's body like in WFC).

I don't think most people realized the best part.

They have FoC bodies.

In the FoC game's multiplayer mode, you can customize your own TFs, exchanging heads, painting them whatever, etc.

Essentially, you can play as The Wreckers in Fall of Cybertron! :michaelbay:

I'm actually OK with this. Coming after the news about all the previously "not for US" exclusives at least coming to Toys R Us, I'm willing to be lenient. Besides, the first actual, official TF toy I ever got as a kid was G1 Topspin and this is the first time any toy has even got within spitting distance of looking like him again, so I'm happy.

Are the wreckers in a boxed set like G2 bruticus or are they sold individually? I'll be getting 2 of the Twintwists. 1 shall be repurposed as Ironfist.

I still don't get the orange impactor and orange whirl though... Supposedly they are of Prime continuity... so... no yellow impactor for me. :(

I'm digging Brawl, Sandstorm and Laserbeak. That little trio of half pints are definite "buy on sight" material for me. I like the colors and head scuplts for the Ruination set but what kills it for me once again is the extreme laziness on the part of Hasbro and their obsession with all the GD repaints. Yes, the 3 aforementioned figures on my buy list are repaints and that is what I have come to expect from figures in that particular size range. Those are designed to appeal more to the younger crowd anyways and are cheap and easy. However, when it comes to going large scale and doing up some thing like the Wreckers, show some respect and don't screw around. Fans are more likely to be all over these more so than the youngsters and nothing says "I don't give a rats ass" to your fans quite like doing this. I may pick up 3 of the 5 figures just for their aesthetic but at this point I could care less about getting the whole combiner simply because of what Hasbro pulled on this one. #-o

*shudders*

Those Wreckers are a slice of Hell. Hasn't this set of molds been whored out enough already? I mean, they haven't even hit retail yet and they're already being used out the wazoo!

EDIT: Okay... G2 Bruticus looks awesome. So glad I preordered from Amazon. (Preordering doesn't cost you anything, btw. They charge when it ships. Just FYI, if you didn't know.) Might even be cheaper than BBTS, and Amazon's customer service rivals BBTS.

Masterpiece Thundercracker is tempting. I normally don't buy redecos, but this is the new Seeker mold, so I'd like to see what it's like, at an affordable price. I just don't understand the battle damage on his shoulders. Looks ridiculous.

EDIT 2: Geez...everything redirects to this thread. Oy...

Anyway...

The Chinese Generations figures look stupid, up close. ...except... Wheelie (yeah, I said it, he's awesome) and Megatron. (G2? Homage? Awesome.)

FOC Generations... Blaster looks good in robot mode, even better than the mold's originator, Soundwave. But...Soundwave/Soundblaster...meh. And the vehicle mode is even worse than I originally thought...

Grimlock does nothing for me. I'll probably buy him, but I'm not sure. He just never won me over, though I do like the flamethrower gimmick...

PRID... Ultra Magnus does NOTHING for me. Not a gorram thing. And Skyquake? I thought we were getting Dreadwing? I'd much rather have Dreadwing. I mean, we were even shown finished product, on display at Botcon, and in promo pics, so which is it??

We're getting both. If you look at the SDCC gallery that I took, Dreadwing is on display.
