Bringing the literal definition of Heavy Metal to life, Entertainment Tonight has tested the upcoming SDCC Transformers set. War for Cybertron Optimus Prime, Megatron, Soundwave and Fall of Cybertron Jazz have been repainted, given hair (yes hair), and paired with Transformers: Animated Ratbat and Laserbeak to form the metal band Knights of Unicron!

SDCC will be happening JULY 24-27

(actually, I'm not arsed about them, but I do appreciate the novelty value. At least it wasn't something ridiculously Mass Market appealing like say a G1 leader in classics style)

Seriously though, we have Prime vs. Megatron, Blaster was unavailable for Soundwave so they went with the next best music geek... I'm guessing.

I am so excited!...for my wallet. This is an easy pass. Again, I'm sort of grateful for that, though. There's so much other great Transformers stuff to get this year that it's a relief I won't have to add another "must have" SDCC exclusive on top of that.

So is this supposed to just represent generic 80s hair bands or someone in particular for each figure?

I bought the little Linkin Park figures for the Linkin Park Soundwave set for the gallery and I'd like to do something similar for this set if I can find some Action Figures or toys that are what these are representing.
