Love the G1 versions, but the classics are the best in my opinion. look like the G1's but with better transformations and they look very good.

Yeah, he said he doesn't want to fork out that much. I don't recommend buying the Classics either, if you're not willing to fork maybe 20-40 bucks a figure, give or take.

PrymeStriker wrote:I'm fine with redecos, as long as they're different characters. Not "Elite Guard Bumblebee," "Shadow Strike Bumblebee," "Nightwatch Optimus Prime," "Battle-Ready Megatron," "Buy-Our-Toys Derpface; Crystal Edition."
The only time I'll accept redecos of the same character is if it's in the show. Otherwise, new character or die.

Well yeah, I just mean for my collection. Now, there have been a handful of really nifty redecos lately, like Prime Dead End and GDO Brawl (I love the Breacher mold), which really don't look like the original versions.

Those aren't just redecos, they're retools.

PRID Megatron, Darkness Megatron, Darkest megatron? XD It seems like Darkest Megatron has Megs with Solus Prime's arm, just like in the latest episode where he used it to wield the Forge. The forge hammer would appear to be the Darkest Megatron Micron. So, do all 3 megatron count?

It's not like they've only used the one mold ever since 1984. Every new toyline does something different with them.
Let's take Thundercracker for example. Some versions of him use a really ugly shade of blue. So, the Starscream for that particular series might look better.
Another series might make Starscream mostly grey, and look kind of boring with only minimal red highlights. The Thundercracker for that one might look nicer.

First of all, we don't know what Prime arm Megatron has. Solus Prime isn't the only Prime that can hold the Forge. For example, the Star Saber is forged by Solus Prime, yet Optimus was able to wield it.
Second of all, who is Darkest Megatron?

A recently announced Megatron figure. Beyond that I don't believe we know anything.

Sorry for multi-posting, but I'm more or less with you on this. I love redecos and repaints, as I can generally make them into my own character rather than just accept the notion that it's sneaky Bumblebee or night time Optimus Prime, but I hate it when repaints simply get an adjective added to the front of their names. Like, what's actually the difference between (for example) Bulkhead and Battle Tactics Bulkhead? Wouldn't it be like, a different way which Bulkhead was employed by the military? If you're a cashier and you get promoted to assistant manager, you don't turn a different color.
I never really cared until all the endless movie repaints took up this approach. I'll accept all the red BB repaints as Cliffjumpers, but I won't accept a red BB repaint as "Fire Resistant Bumblebee" or whatever. That's just dumb.

So, how would we know what he looks like? How would we know he has the Forge of Solus Prime and the Prime arm if we haven't seen him?
PrymeStriker wrote:I have a little bit of trouble making those characters their own, unless it's in the show. They would look too similar to the original character for me to accept it.

Seekers? The thousand same-body-types-as-Animated-Bumlbebee folk? It's easy to make a redeco their own characters, they've done it before, and will continue to do so, I'm sure.

No, I'm talking about Shadow Strike Bumblebee, Nightwatch Optimus Prime, BuyOurToysMode Megatron, etc. I'm not talking about characters that already are their own characters, and I already said that I have no problem with them.

Ah, my apologies! I misread your post. Yeahh, those are hard to abide by, there's really no point to them. I mean, the occasional one looks good, like Dotm (Hell)Fireburst Prime and Murderbee, but for the most part it's annoying and shelf clogging.
