switched 5 primary forum tables back to ENGINE=MyISAM after switching to InnoDB last night. Not sure what went wrong with those 5 tables over night.

Seems like the boards (but not the rest of the site) were down all day until now.

They have been down for me for the past 14 hours. the main site page was accessible, but for some reason it included the 3 new articles for today at one point then it went back in time and only showed the news up to last night, so i am just now getting to the new stories.

Making progress with things on the server. It should be stable for the next 12 to 14 hours after the latest round of changes. There's an automated script that runs around 4am that might cause a problem. If it doesn, I'll know what the last major culprit is. If it's all good at 4am, then I'll know the changes I've made during the past 48 hours to various scripts and server settings resolved one of the problems.

I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but the problem i mentioned persists.
Accessing the TF-toys discussion forum (from outside or inside seibertron.com) will log me out automatically.

Try doing a force refresh (Ctrl+F5). That cleared a few cookie problems up for me.

Installed phpbb support toolkit so that the username_clean field could be rebuilt to resolve a problem with users who couldn't login that had usernames which contained an apostrophe. Also did a variety of things to upgrade/fix the structures of the phpbb database tables. Also added new FULLTEXT indexes to the phpbb posts database table.

On this page of the "NYCC 2015 Titans Return product reveals at annual Hasbro Press Event Photogallery", the fifth image in the top row on the far right, the one labeled "DSC07918.psd" is severely broken, being a ginormously-tall image that stretches the page downward far longer than it's supposed to be.

Almost 48 hours and no crisis with the server or database. A ton of things have changed behind the scenes with the server, the database, and the site's codebase so hopefully the problems have been resolved for the time being.

After some additional reading, I found out about some additional regarding the InnoDB engine variables in my.cnf. InnoDB is not the preferred MySQL database engine on Seibertron.com, we usually use MyISAM engine for the database tables. However, it is used on a few of our database tables for the Seibertron.com primary database as well as some of the core databases used in Plesk that manage the server, so I updated the variables. The server seems to be running good at the moment. Will keep an eye on it after this changes to see how it does.

Sorry about that delay ... made some additional changes to the mysql configuration file which accidentally prevented the database from restarting properly. Figured out what this page left out that was wrong http://www.bigdbahead.com/?p=115 and it's working now.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, leokearon. A different user brought this up this past weekend. I thought it was resolved but apparently not. According to Norton (https://safeweb.norton.com/report/show_mobile?url=seibertron.com), the following single page on Seibertron.com was reported as having a phishing attack on it but doesn't provide any additional information to help me resolve the problem.

After registering myself and Seibertron.com with Norton, I have disputed the report and requested that they re-evaluate it. Please let me know if it is still flagged as having a problem in a few days.

The notifications are kind of odd on phpbb. If you haven't visited the topics after X amount of time, it quits sending notifications until X amount of time has passed. This is to help prevent users perceiving email notifications from phpbb as spam.

In other words, you might need to revisit those topics again so that it starts sending you notifications again.

Hopefully all of the changes I've made have made over the past month or so have made Seibertron.com a better working online home for all of you. Having all of you participating in our community is what brings a smile to my face!
