Hullo, first time poster here, but my opinion of War for Cybertron on PC goes thusly:
It's oresome. But I feel bad for it. The only commercial I've seen for it was for the gamestop code junk (granted, the commercial was awesome too). Why I feel bad for it, is that I have a feeling it'll be the summer underdog, like Battlefield: Bad Company was 2 years ago. Loved that game, love this game; Guarentee not enough people know about it. At most, I've only seen 700 people playing the game on PC. Yes, I got it on PC. =P
Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the story, am currently enjoying the multiplayer, enjoyed the Escalation mode, and am eager to play SP Co-op. I have no idea why, but all the reviewers said that the visuals are bland and the world doesn't look good... But I must disagree, because High Moon made a pretty convincing living mechanical world. Even when your character doesn't move, everything around him does. I mean, the walls shift and move, your weapons and gizmos move a bit, as well as your own body parts. I thought that was a touch of awesome on top of an awesome cake. The gameplay itself is solid and there was nothing wrong. Literally, this game is practically perfect, in my eyes. And even if there were problems, I enjoyed the game to much to notice... Except one...
Now, that problem is this: Getting to the multiplayer is a pain and while in multiplayer there is no communication... Come on, this ain't the Wii! As soon as I finish this post, I'm going to try to find a way to complain to High Moon about that... There's no voice chat, not even text chat for Primus Sake! I mean, how can I play coop or escalation without being able to coordinate with my TEAM! UGH! If they fix that, I'm not going to put this game down... ever. But Because of the problem i just described, it's sometimes frustrating.
Obviously, I did notice that it has a severe case of Modern Warfare 2 syndrome where there are no servers, and sometimes the matchmaking throws my poor little Scout lvl 6 butt in with level 25 Leaders... But I can forgive that... But I can't forgive the no communication.
Speaking of PC, actually, fun fact for those who don't know... if you get Steam (I'm certain you guys know what steam is,
http://www.steampowered.com, it's free), you can get WFC for just 40 bucks (USD). And when you do that, you can create private chatrooms and invite your friends in there and start a Voice chat room, XBL style... But I don't have any steam friends that have the game, nor do I think it should be necessary to go through such a hassle just for communications...
All in all, love the game except for the non-communication.
