Ah yes, the innate skills of Sly to make one consider to do this:.
I'm not a fan of Christmas either but I have the decency to not drag this thread down. So how about it Sly? Care to shut the **** up and spare us your loathing and negativity?

When did I say I'm not a fan of it? I'm very much a fan of its original purpose. But right now, I can't bring myself to give much of a damn, because there isn't much more I want, that I can't buy myself.

Buying stuff and getting stuff is the original purpose. Check. Got it.
Now go away, because I would like to celebrate some togetherness.

Then continue being a dick.

I could check, but thought I'd move the conversation along from penises and coal.

't Is the season to be merry.
But the 6th? Not so much, it however is the day I quit wishing people a happy new year and the day my 'tree' must be taken down. Over here we call it 'three kings' and outside of the church, it has no meaning.

Yeah, the Epiphany happened to the Three Kings, according to Christian lore, and that is the general tradition.
Italy also has the added commercial side of stockings with sweets and coal, sometimes small toys. A Fascist regime introduction/reworking, and one that still lags thanks to the presence of the church in the country, as festivites were all shifted around to fit Mussolini's ideology and personal cult - so now Italians do all of them. Of course. Waiting for non-Christian festivities to join in, too, eventually.

Italy at the moment does gifts for 24th/25th and some do sweets for 6th. *shrug*

It's an amalgamation of numerous winter-based holidays, all of which took place around the same time as Christmas. (Which, in itself, still featured gift-giving; for instance, gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh) So in a weird way, it could still be seen as a time of togetherness, not just of people, but of their various holiday celebrations.
