Yupper! Nitro is dope, but the anti-Titanmaster is PRETTY LAME. The thingy things.... they were so tight that I didn't think they'd move! And snapping his legs in for jet mode was a nightmare. But! Both modes are dope, the trip just ain't funitscramtastic wrote:You got Nitro?! Nice! And Hot Rod!!
I'm returning Nitro. His crossbow thingy things broke. Oh well.
I getcha about Hotrod though... trying to fit everything together for car mode is a pain in the ass. And his arms are loose AF. Like, the worst out of package looseness I've experienced
Also no gun?!

I'm sitting on a preorder... Diaclone Big Powered. I'm sort of in limbo about what I want to do with these Diaclone figures. Do I go all in, or cut it off before it does real damage? It sorta came to a head when this expensive bastard was announced, THEN a repaint before he even hit the shelves. There's lots of other figures I could buy... like finishing up my UW's and other stuff. But part of me thinks even if I quit (or cool off) the Diaclone line, I'ma still want this figure.
Thing is... I can afford to buy everything regardless... but y'all probably noticed I've been going a little nuts lately with the hauls. I've been thinking I should reign it in a bit.
Thoughts?

I know it's only money, and you can't take it with you, but you can focus on your specific wants and come back around to other things if you still want to in the future

Well the sound advice is don't buy the things, but the collector's advice is get em while you can.shajaki wrote:Thoughts?
Make a pros and cons list, as cliche as that sounds.
Which will you regret more, getting it or not getting it?
Do you have the space?
Do you want to keep going down that rabbit hole?
Will they keep their resale value if you change your mind?
How much will it cost to get it on the secondary market?
It sounds to me that you want to slow your spending down a bit, so decide what is priority and what isn't and focus on that. I've been trying do do a little bit of that myself lately.
Ultimately, it's a question that only you can answer

I decided to jump on the Club figures in case they disappear. And I'm not 100% on Big Powered yet... but I'm leaning towards buying. He just looks so impressive, and I don't see myself regretting it. However....
I was just looking through the pre-orders I currently have lined up, and quite frankly it is terrifying. Not exaggerating. Specifically March. There's like 10 MB figures coming out, 3 LG's, 2 MP's, and sweet jezus... Grand Max and Greatshot

The LG's are fantastic.
I've avoided the Legends scale rabbit hole until now... they're awesome, and I'll likely buy the SS trio, but I'm not sold on collecting another entire sub-line(scale) of figures still
Furthered my Zelda Amiibo collection, and I love gangster stuff but I've never actually seen the Godfather's

I'm still waiting it out one more week. There are still over 30 of the CMW sets and more than 20 Spraxus figures. If I am not meant to get either, I won't shed many tears. Spraxus is at a price I would buy him, but I don't want to ship him alone.
And I feel ya with the pre-orders. I'm cancelling my MTB Nemesis Prime pre-order since I really don't need the mold again, even if it is better this time. The voyager does great for me, and that money is going to Greatshot. At the moment, I have MP-36 coming in stock really soon; MP-40, War Hammer Bee, and legends G2 Megs in February, Greatshot in March, and maybe Dinobot in July, still wrestling with that one (All TFsource). Not nearly as bad as you, but I fear what would have been should I have kept my Grand Max pre-order AKA the pretender shell and Nemesis. Oh and Firage is this month too from BBTS.
Edit: my current TFS stack:

I'm getting worried. I plan on buying a Switch and Zelda soon... and all my Zelda Amiibo's are sealed. Am I gonna want to buy an entire second set to use on the game?itscramtastic wrote:I'm glad you got the Champions Shaj!! Mine arrived today, yup, Sunday![]()
Oh I didn't mean the Legends scaled HasTak toys. I meant the emerging 3P take on the Legends scale, and how they're making EVERYONE in that scale. I'd be right in there if it weren't for... me collecting literally everything elsebodrock wrote:It's hard to not love the LGs in any scale, but I find myself enjoying the Legends scale a bit more these days. O I C LOL
Yeah, I almost went down the 3P Legends-scale rabbit hole with a GenerationToy set of Megz & Optimus my friend made me buy from him (he bought two and didn't want to return the dup lol)-- but then I just flipped 'em for store credit at my favorite vintage store (and got Armada Unicron instead!).

Sorry answer? Yes. Long answer? You need to open the packaging to get the amiibo to scan, at least that's what I think the piece of foil lined cardboard is designed to do, block RFID transmission in package. My advice is, and I think I said it before, you don't have to go all in on the Diaclone stuff. You don't have to buy every repaint of every release. If it's something you want to have and experience, choose the one you think looks the coolest, and just get that one. These things aren't cheap, and you don't necessarily have the emotional connection to Diaclone you have to TFs. It's OK to get your toes wet, but nobody thinks you're a pussy if you don't go off the high dive.
But really, the best advice I can give is...
