Much like PS, Gimp is very overwhelming and not user friendly. It's all in plain English and once you get used to the layout and how it's organized you'll find it to be quite powerful. Just Google what you want to get done, there are a ton of how to's online.

What I did in PS was select the whites, and removed lots (or sometimes all) yellow from them. I think I found individual color selection, but black and white weren't among them. :???:

I humbly disagree. He (probably) has every official MP and I don't yet, but I'm collecting all packaging variants too and as few 3P figures as possible. That's what half his collection is [-(

So hey Gimp users, lil help with the yellow/whites? It's the one thing I can't figure out. Like I said I have lighting issues and with Photoshop I was able to isolate the whites and remove yellows. I can't figure out how to do it in Gimp? :???:

Let's see if I can help :-?

Seems like colors are giving you fits. From the main top menu go to Colors and from that drop down try:

>Color Balance
This allows you to adjust various ranges (shadows, midtones and highlights) and color levels (cyan, magenta, yellow)

>Hue-Saturation
This give you control over each primary color or all at one as well as hue, lightness or saturation

>Levels
I use this one the most. It controls the extremes of the blacks and whites. If a pic is too dark or too light you can adjust just those aspects. Sort of a contrast control but more fine tuning. You'll have to play around a bit to get the feel for it. As you slide one part the others adjust as well.

>Tools >Transform Tools is where all the fun cropping and resizing tools live

>Tools >Paint Tools is where you will find the real magic tools like Clone or Smudge

The Color Tools are repeated under Tools as well.

There are also a ton of written and video tutorials online for some of the real advanced stuff.

I used Gimp today at work to turn this pic I took of their gas pump...

Into this logo for thir POS...

I had to use the Prespective tool to fix the angle. Then clone and smudge to get rid of all the not white. Then the Fill tool to replace the off white of with clean white and the funky uneven green with a green that more closely matches the actual color on the signs.
