Throttler? I hardly knew her!

I love my G1 Throttlebots, although Searchlight has been missing since I was a kid..around the same time Hot Rod went missing (all I have left is his canopy/spoiler, which is funny if you saw what happened to my MP Rodimus recently!)...

Putting the pedal back to the metal, that is one cool combiner.

the funny thing is, that I straight up HATE the Throttlebots. Well, maybe not all since I only had Freeway. But deffinitly Freeway. I dedicated a whole thread to it

I guess I liked the Throttlebots as they were bigger than the Minicars and Goldbug looked like Goldbug in the cartoon :lol:

Until the "Classics" Pretender Bumblebee came out, that was the closest I got to Bumblebee in G1 (I did pick up G2 when he came out). Sentimental value!!!!!!

Y'know what's on Jaki's mind lately? Like, almost every waking moment?

I've been a supporter of Ironhide since day 1, so naturally I'm excited for that. But Sunsurge is another story. If you know me, you know I don't cross the 3P line for MP's unless I have a damn good reason. And I really feel that an official Sunstreaker might be further from reality than some think. That car, the Countach LP500S "Super Tuning", isn't a real car unfortunately. What this means for the licensing of another Lambo toy, who knows. But I'm going to cover my bases and nab Surgio while I can. Y'all remember the prices of Quakewave before the reissue and official announcement? I ain't goin though that again! #-o

Man, I have been thinking about Ironhide all day. I am so browbeaten by his ill reception, that I wanna go in that thread, raise my fists to the sky and state a case for why he SHOULDN"T be "Cartoon Accurate"! Or G1 toy accurate for that matter. I guess I'm a wiener, because I know my opinion is so counter to common consensus, that it will receive a ton of flack. And I am not in the mode to defend my stance.

I couldn't be more excited for him. So I will wait for him to take his long sea journey to get here, and have a ton of fun playing with him when he finally arrives.

I've never understood the issues people take with MP Ironhide. I tend to look at each figure on it's own and decide if it looks like something I would like to own and play with.

I wouldn't waste my time preaching the gospel of Ironhide. Your words will fall on deaf ears.

I think he looks like a cool figure and he's huge. Somehow I missed the size on the first reveal.

All those 3P MP scale figures look so nice, but that's a dangerous game to play. There's no putting that lid back on once it's off.

I think Ironhide is like all the other MPs. The ultimate version of what these characters/toys can be. Taking all the good things from their past incarnations and piling it together to make a pile of win!

I getcha. Every single MP has a flaw, no matter how great they are overall. And it actually kind of infuriates me that be is being totally written off because of two friggin panels. Seriously folks, those two panels account for maybe 6% of the figure. GET OVER IT AND PLAY WITH COOL TOYS MKAY?

My G1 memories are very old and faded, and I like them that way. To me the MP line is what the toys were like to me as a kid. Now that you say it, I agree, they are like the ultimate version of the characters.

With exception of some of the early MP figures (cause they break or something), I don't see myself ever being disappointed in the MP line.

So Old Ironsides must already be in transit to you guys then? I just noticed he's in stock at BBTS.

HIP PANELS on a Transformer are as old as the Cybertronian day cycle is long! In this order! Silver face, face plate, head crest , hip panels, tires, windows, and on and on. Blow it out your BOT HOLE!

Why not toy accurate? Nobody want's a redo of that silly toy. Not even me. That toy is fun for weird reasons. That form had it's time and place and it only really works in the Diaclone sense. But you bet your buckskins I'm gonna put that old man in that goofy fan mode!

Why no toon? Because he can't. That crummy drawing was an extrapolation of a thing that wasn't a thing. He was so simplified, and striped of kibble he just looked like a man with a microwave shirt and a cardboard Spartan helmet.
He deserved better than that, and he got it. A sweet Scooby Doo van that turns into a huminoid robot that incorporates his car bits in a classical TF way, and ends up big and tuff! And like all MP figures, he does it in an artistic style based on the G1 toy design aesthetic.

So..are we all getting Ironhide? I got my notification from TransformerLand yesterday that he was ready to ship, he just wanted to know if I wanted to wait for MP28 to ship them both. I said "Ship him now, and MP Road Rage if you have her too!"

I haven't heard anything else

So my Ironhide is in Florida!

Also, Shaj, the only 3P MP you have is Apollyon right? Me too. The only time I've crossed the line.

That said, Sunsurge looks AMAZING (which I'm certain I've said before). Omnigonix has delayed Spinout to fix some QC. I like Surge in car mode, and Spin in bot mode. So I guess I won't get either

He is heavy and large. Shipping on Devy was around $42 dollars and I had no option but EMS. Mags might qualify for a cheaper shipping method. I'd guess $20 to $30.

Crambler, just looked at BBTS. UM is $189.99 plus shipping. Even if shipping from Japan is $30, that's still about $40 cheaper from AmiAmi.
