Oh man.... Oh dudes....

I don't even know where to begin. Sunsurge is a work of art.
First off, he feels like an actual TT Masterpiece. He nails the aesthetic. His transformation (while tricky and involved) is F'ING BRILLIANT, and he is solid as a rock in both modes (really awesome locking tabs). He poses like a dream. Face sculpt is terrific. And his bonus pieces (Chip especially) are friggin kickass.

He looks great in pics, but even those don't do him justice. In hand he has exceeded ALL my expectations, which is saying a lot since I've been hyping him up in my head for two weeks.

Pretty much the only negative I can think of is his transformation cheat. I fully believe there was no other way to achieve his proper animation silhouette without it, but as others have said it's not befitting of an MP. But how much do I care about that you ask? I CAN"T HEAR YOU OVER HIS AWESOMENESS. 8-)

I'm still high on Surgio, but some squares are tryin to bring me down.

I'm hunting pretty friggin hard for my CW Combaticons, and I found my first batch. I'd be posting pics right now if I'd bought them, but alas it wasn't to be. It was at a collector store. Now lemme tell ya, I'm willing to pay a little extra to get stuff quicker, but I do have a limit.

They didn't have Onslaught, but they had the four limbs. The current CAD prices for CW Deluxe's are around 18 bucks, and this store was charging $35 per limb!! They also had Leader Skywarp (another first for my town) for $98!!

I was shocked, but I gathered up the limbs and asked if he could knock them down to 30 a limb, and he said 33. I politely declined, holding back a minor aneurysm though. I'm better off though, I was stupid for willing to pay that. y'know how it is though, when they're in your hands it's hard to put them down. 8-}

Once you get a taste it's hard to walk away. I carry figs around we me all the time and then walk the green mile back to the toy section

Agreed, I got it bad for that super force mega mad props StarCracker.

I can't even visit a "buy TFs here" site without putting one in the cart. I missed all the reasonable priced import sites. The ususal us suspects want 30 seiberbuckaroos and I have a hard time with that.

BC's Brawn did nothing for me. I can't explain why, and I can't even suggest ways of making him better, but there's something about him that makes me rather underwhelmed :-?

So let's rap about MP Ironhide y'all.
His transformation is the work of witchcraft. And like, I preformed it, so I guess that means I'm a witch, so now I have that to deal with. Half of those friggin van panels somehow magically fold up into his chest and is incredibly slick. The hip panels and butt wheels wouldn't even be on my radar if they weren't so talked about. That head sculpt is spot on. He is big, solid, and can pull off almost any pose you want. His accessories... damn. You'd think he was a Figuarts or Figma with all those extras. He has a beauty of a van mode, only criticism being his front wheels. They're just attached to flappy plastic dealy and it doesn't look very "Masterpiece" to me. Outside of that though, its cherry.

Overall, I'd recommend him to anyone. He's intuitive and a lot of fun.

That's it, you nailed it. Ironhide reminds me of a figma. He almost looks like a non-transformable figure. He's nice and sleek with just enough auto bits to look like a transformer. The other MP cars look like they obivously turn into something else with vestigial car parts here and there.

He always looked cool to me, but now he looks required. It also helps they everyone been dumping praise on him.

I think my collecting compass may be finding it's bearings.

Edit: I somehow missed the pics above. So Thundericecream is tasty delicious, yes? Good to hear.

I finally know what my problem with Ironhide is. Something about him has nagged at me since the first pics were revealed, and once I had him in hand, I didn't feel as if he really fit in on my MP shelf (or won't once it's set back up). I couldn't put the feeling into words, but now I can.

He is too damn clean. :lol:

As you said, Cary, he doesn't have the vehicle kibble all the others do. Aside from his chest, almost nothing remains of his alt mode. That's what nagged at me. Now that I've identified the nag, I think I can let it go now.
